I personally place my family between two exit points at church. We have volunteers that stand guard at all the entrances, but I've never asked if they carry or not. We have a good size congregation, with two morning services, about 600-700 total. I try to be aware of folks I don't recognize and try to introduce myself before services start, as do several others. I do it partially to be welcoming and partially to get a feel for how they are acting.

I guarantee some large churches have "formal" security. I know of some small country churches where several of the members sit purposefully near the back or entrances and they are packing their every day carry weapons. They can't afford hired security so they made their own. I promise you that. Brother John Doe and Eddie Doe are in the back with their Smith and Wessons watching over the flock. Guaranteed.

This conversation is not about another church that allows parishioners to carry concealed. This conversation is plain and simple about 76 stating that there is a church in Huntington with armed security guards present.
This has nothing to do with anything else. My church is half active or retired military. They are all carrying concealed allowed to.
