Not being mean, but he probably was no matter what.
I believe Ali had the potential to be a late round pick if he had a good All-Star game and good combine. That's out the window now.
Running backs, for the most part, just aren’t drafted like they used to be. Couple that with him being injured all the time and it has UDFA all over it.
As the old saying goes, the greatest ability of any player is availability.

Running backs aren't drafted in the first round like they used to be. The total number of running backs picked since the draft went to seven rounds has been fairly steady, though. An average of 21 have been taken over the past five years and the five years before that an average of 23 were taken. 24 were taken in 2022 and 25 were taken 2019.
Everything before he ruptured his bicep tendon was pointing towards him getting drafted. His combine invite was huge and guys like Kiper (7th RB overall) had very high grades on him. Scouts, INC had him as a 4th rounder:

His injury is a show stopper, though. I'd say there's almost no chance of him getting drafted now that he won't be able to work out at the combine. @Rock98Dog hit the nail on the head.
