Hey, you black-lunged, racist, dildo swallowing hillbilly.

Did you listen to Tyler Childer’s new album that dropped today? It’s only nine records, but it’s better than his last project.

His voice in many songs sounds quite a bit different than in the past - more youthful for some reason.

I have a question perhaps someone on here could answer. I attended the concert in Charleston WV last night that included Chris Stapleton, Margo Price, and Marcus King. It appears to me all 3 acts used the same sound system. Why is there a huge difference in sound quality between them? Marcus King had the least sound quality and then it was good with Margo, and better yet for Stapleton.

It could be a ton of things.

Though they may use the same sound system in the venue, they definitely use different instruments and most likely use different microphones. That is one factor.

Another factor is soundcheck. I'm sure they all went through soundcheck, but that is with an empty arena. Throw 5000+ people in an arena, and the acoustics change. The first act is more or less of a guinea pig in that situation, as the sound booth then has to make changes . . . and that isn't a one time thing. They will go back-and-forth for the first handful of songs relying on feedback from the artists and stage manager trying to get everything right.

Each artist usually has their own sound techs on tour with them. Like with everything else, the more money you have, the better sound tech you can hire to go on tour. Stapleton's sound guy is almost assuredly more experience than the first opener, so the talent in that position plays a factor.

Some artists also know their limitations. They may want their vocals drown on purpose.

Finally, though I can't imagine in Stapleton's case, some headliners have spec techs in contracts that are different for openers than they have. Why? Imagine being a headliner and having a young but really talented vocalist as an opener (think Christina Aguilera or Ariana Grande opening for an artist earlier in their careers). The last thing you want is the opener over shadowing you, so you can manipulate that some by using better gear.

The main attractions sound system is always better. Just my theory.

I've been busy turning the WMU coeds onto Tyler. My buddy that owns Shakespeare's plays his music every now and then. If Charleston Girl don't bring a tear to your eye, then you must hate dogs.

I told my wife a few concerts ago that the only thing I could think of for the difference is the amount of $$$ each band can afford to spend on the sound quality. I'll have to pay attention next time to see if a different sound tech is working one act and not the others.

His song Ever Lovin’ Hand is a hoot! It’s his ode to “self lovin’’

The record is a very well done project, IMO!

Mr Yagi I not a racist or the dildo accusation.I kinda was disappointed but Tyler's voice always pulls the song out for me. A question that could help me knowing about hip hop and how you feel about it. Do you ever get goose bumps from a song? I know I do. That emotion caused by good music has been faithful to me when I hear something I think is very special. Now it's usually the musicians on a instrumental break that this occurs.Of course with Tyler it was the vocals plus lyrics plus the feeling he seems to add. You would really like him yagi's.Check out his short silly film Shady makes a deal on you tube. They made it a few miles away as the crow flies. It was nominated by the Sundance film Festival for some honor. Tyler is a comedian. A lot from smoking weed. See the cover of country squire? Tyler sitting around smoking from bongs. It's a wild country cover that I have not studied over. I only have glanced at it. Glad you didn't bash it. You are turning out from listening to me like kid rock did listening to Hank Jr. Both kinda punks more so Kid, never saw you as a punk but you two are coming back to the middle. You listening to Tyler and kid rock now doesn't have a rap band but a decent rock and roll bank. Never doubt Hank Jr don't rock. Headliner usually always has louder and bigger sound systems and larger stage shows. I have seen well over 100 concerts and that's how most shows were
