I think both sides can find humor here. I thought SNL has really faded through the years, but this is solid comedy.

Given the circumstances (rape accusation) and the motive behind the SNL actors (they’re all liberals), this isn’t the least bit funny...and I have a great sense of humor. Did SNL have a skit where they made fun of Dr Ford as well?

SNL has made fun of both Democrats and Republicans. The news and who’s in office dictates who gets roasted.

SNL makes fun of situations involving democrats, but rarely do they actually make fun of the person, or attempt to belittle them or make them look stupid like they do conservatives.

Why is making fun of conservatives the only humor liberals know anymore?

First, it was pretty good. SNL, regardless of who they have used, has done a good job of getting actors/comedians to do good impersonations with little time to prepare.

Second, who in recent politics makes it easier to mock than an air-head like Palin and the overall demeanor/antics of cheeto? Their personalities have made them for the easiest targets.

Never mind that one side claims this is a sham, scam, and made up...

But they are not making fun of the accusation. They are making fun of the actions of the jackholes involved, except for the accused, who is the one we should be most concerned about with such an allegation. We can quibble about the first part of the hearing, but I think even you would have to admit the second half became a circus.

The second half is when it became a circus? This entire thing became a circus weeks ago. Every one in that room knows how insane this is yet they persist.

Because liberals made it a circus.

Why are you so concerned with the accuser's feeling and not the man who may very well be falsely accused of sexual assault? Nobody...NOBODY...backs her story, even the ones she named that were supposed to have been there. But let's keep destroying Kavanaugh...it's ok to poke fun at him. He might overturn Roe v Wade.

Oh it’s so cold in here snowflake.

Please tell us how no Republican, including Kavanaugh (any thought of him as an unbiased juror is gone after he went all Breitbart at the hearing, so let's just through him in as a Republican and drop the usual charade), did not particulate in the farce of the second half of that hearing.

Why don't you ask the Republicans who cared to be concerned with not being dicks to her? They must have more sense than you, as you apparently want her to face the Inquisition.

He went all Breitbart? Just exactly how is a guy supposed to act when he thinks he's being falsely accused of rape while simultaneously dealing with the stress this calculated political hit is taking on his wife and daughters?

He might overturn Roe v Wade.

Typical Lib scare tactics. Remember prior to the 2016 election? "If Trump has access to the codes to launch nuclear missiles, he will destroy us all....you know he will use them with that temper..."

Those quotes were almost as golden as, "you boys ready to get your asses kicked tonight?" Nov 8th, 2016.

It’s a job interview. He is failing miserably. He is a sitting federal judge. I would expect him to NOT get political, NOT accuse a sexual assault victim of being a political operative for a Clinton revenge scheme, NOT be a conspiracy theorist, and NOT become totally unhinged when he claims to be level headed and even tempered and is accused of getting violent when he’s drunk, giving more credence to many allegations.

Hiding behind the "it's only a job interview" would make sense until you start accusing the guy of attempted rape. It's intellectually dishonest, lazy, and shows a disconnect to the seriousness of the accusation.

The left is acting like he has no right to question the accusations against him. It's so insane I'm glad there are still some folks who understand that this isn't a simple job interview. From the Journal:

If he is now denied the appointment, it will be because he has been depicted as a sexual predator who deserves contempt, derision and possible imprisonment. He may no longer be able to teach law, coach sports or expect to be treated respectfully. He could be forced to resign his current judicial position, because having a “convicted” rapist on the bench is unseemly. For these reasons, he now has the right—perhaps not a legal right, but a right based on fundamental fairness—to have the charges against him put to the test of clear and convincing evidence or some standard close to that.

It's clear you're putting politics above sane thought. Not surprising given your other posts and public actions. But your inability to see the bigger picture is frightening.

I think republicans did the right thing by having an independent female question Ford. During this entire process, republicans have been very careful with her feelings and have been sure to give her the benefit of the doubt that something happened to her, while all the Democrats made it their mission to verbally hug her every time they spoke.

It wasn’t until Kavanaugh’s time that Democrats started the circus and the farce that his whole thing truly was. They did not give him anywhere near the level of respect that republicans gave Ford, and he’s the one being accused here with no proof and no evidence whatsoever...nor did any of Ford’s “witnesses” back her. None.

Yep you are a total snowflake.

and I have a great sense of humor.

You are in your late thirties and are a huge WWE fan. That is more damning to your "I have a great sense of humor" claim than Kavanaugh's frequent crying and temper-tantrums were to his "I am calm and level-headed" claim.

They gave him far more respect than Republicans gave Merrick Garland. Ballgame.

“The”Devil’s Triangle” is a drinking game.”

He committed perjury. He should lose his job as a federal judge. He should be ridiculed.

“I got into Yale Law School. That’s the number one law school in the country. I had no connections there. I got there by busting my tail in college.”

His paternal grandfather, Everett Edward Kavanaugh, attended Yale.

He committed perjury.

Act like a nominee to SCOTUS, not a "politician".
He has. Holy shit he has. I say this as someone who was completely meh on his nomination and also as someone who didn't vote for Trump. Yes, the dems thought Hillary was a lock & if not Merrick, they'd still get a left leaning judge. However, he should have gotten the vote because he was qualified.

If Sotomayor was qualified to be a nominee to the SCOTUS, so is Kavanaugh. And he's undergone way more bullshit during the "job interview" even before this debacle occurred than she did. But he went along with it the entire way like a professional. Senators said no before they even started the process while demanding crazy amounts of additional docs all throughout, even though they said publicly they weren't going to change their mind.

Feinstein has been catching grief from her electorate this last year and a half about the need to go left. The Journal did a good piece on her about a month ago (before she pulled this crap) about them demanding she not support the nomination. I thought she'd try to go through procedural maneuvering but never did I think she would try something like this. But he's supposed to sit across from her and smile and tell them his biggest weakness is that he cares too much, you know, a job interview. She's garbage. And she doesn't care about Ford.

The demands of the accuser as to the format of the questioning clearly implied it was political and wanted it done in a way that would deny him a chance to address the accusations. Just the fact that people were entertaining the idea as plausible shows you how nuts this is.

Until I looked it up I didn't know he had gone through as many background checks - including Larry Flint's million dollar bounty. If he's this crazy rage-drunk that people want to make him out to be, something would have come up by now.

Could you imagine if you thought you were being wrongly accused of rape & possible manslaughter (she stated she thought he might accidentally kill her) and every piece of evidence the accuser brought was either inconsistent, not able to be verified, or just non-existent? And it was going to destroy your future. Probably take a toll on the ol' family I would imagine. Oh, and every democrat on that panel is basically ignoring Keith Ellison's accusers.

Frankly, I think he knew he was expected to come in there and be a punching bag for dems to kickstart some of their 2020 runs (Warren just opened up the door on her run, what a coincidence.) That Howard Beale-esque statement might not have been him eating the turd-sandwich that many wanted, but for those paying attention at what insanity this has become, it was great.

This is an awfully long post for you to just say, "yeah, yelling and screaming and floating conspiracy theories are perfectly normal behaviors for a SCOTUS nominee". You do get style points for the Howard Beale reference.

We've descended so far into the reality TV bubble that people think this shit is normal, or at least defendable.
