That Doug Smock referred to in the article last week based on his interview with Doc? As Mr. Trump said " What the hell do you have to lose" by all this long drawn out period of time? Are Doc and Hamrick hoping this is all going to blow over? If so they are actually dumber than even they think. JMO

I'm hearing that Legg is definately out, and we're just giving him time to job hunt to save face. 2nd hand info, but from a person I trust. Fwiw.

That said, I'll be highly disappointed if we miss out on someone like Briles because Doc doesn't have the cahones to fire a friend.

73, with all the new reports out on Briles today from ESPN, you do not want him in Huntington at all.

Legg was, I believe, a candidate for assistant coach of the year for the offense he built at Purdue. You can cut on him, but you guys who are cutting need go get some facts in your comments. And two years ago most on here were hoping he wouldn't bolt to FCS as a head coach. This year was bad, no way around it. But Legg has had a great coaching career and I'm betting there are many who'd want his knowledge on their sidelines.

What "reports"? The dude saw a recruit one too many times .

Geez, you guys are acting like he got hammered while hosting a recruit, then vomited all over his car while being pulled over and arrested by police.

Or like he got drunk and belligerent and kicked out of a casino.... By the police.

Given the choice between that baggage or a coach who went to a track meet he shouldn't have, well....

Nice reference, 73, to those quality, high character individuals, who, despite their inability to be able to stay seated on their respective barstools, are nevertheless worshipped as coaching "gods" at West Virginia's pathetic excuse of a "flags$#t" institution!!

Most likely earliest post bowl season. Mid January. If Kendall Bryles is a candidate for OC QB coach then we would have to wait on possibly NCAA outcomes on Baylor.

I'm in the camp to take him. Remember as a new NCAA officer was leaving west vagina U half of his staff had committtee the SAME errors. Over utilizing cell phone texts etc. Ima Schmuck of course got them off but in reality it could have been just been losing count and you self report and the NCAA has to take action.

I'd take Bayors offensive scheme, sort of like the old Pruett days of hanging 50 on everyone.

One thing is certain Doc keeps Legg and he's risking his own skin for his ole buddy. Legg is a good man , but we need a change.

Even two years ago the offense was predictable. Yes we put up yards and points but everyone and their brother knew on third down we would run the wr screen to the wide side of the field

Getting Briles would be big I believe but in typical Marshall fashion we will piss around until we have no shot or he bolts to another opportunity. He is not gonna wait around until we find a place for Legg. What program runs like this???

When my brother is sitting beside me calling the plays before we run them it's predictable. Yes Legg has great knowledge and did well at Purdue and also with Rakeem but last year is unexcusable. Change is good, put Legg in at another coaching position.

Still Chase is going to have to grow up as is the rest of the team. Last year's sideline antics looked like a junior high team that didn't care. It was almost weird if it weren't so embarrassing to watch. Looked like Holliday had no control over any of them.

Briles would be a phenomenal hire and the only hire I believe we could make that would actually get the fan base excited. thank God he was found guilty by the ncaa or we would not be in contention for him. fact of the matter is that we are not going to get a good coach to come here unless they have some 'baggage'

Briles unemployment check is probably higher that what Marshall could offer him.

We have no kicker and the 7th rated best kicker is in Huntington. Doc go sign him and then get another kicker and run the two we got off or have them as 3rd and 4th string. Wake up doc or resign

Chase needs to carry a clip board

Chase needs to carry a clip board

May be the only task left open to him at MU. I mean if we are running a read option attack, then doesn't the "option" part require that, at times, the QB keeps the ball and runs?? If not, then I certainly watched a lot of games this season with teams supposedly running the "read option" where their QBs did just exactly that. If Chase can't, or doesn't want to, run, then we have either got to change QBs or change the system. If he is a "classic" pocket passer, then we need to run an offensive system, e.g., 2 back sets, that enhances the QB's skills and strong points and which gives him the best chances of being successful. Doc has GOT TO DECIDE and make any required changes, personnel and/or coaches. That's one of the reasons he's getting "the Big Bucks"!!

Here is a question that no one has responded on. If our OC & DC are so talented then why haven't they had offers from other universities. Don't remember see where they were considered. Same for DOC.

The only changes will be a new Strength and Conditioning coach and the money was raised to hire a QB coach, and before everyone starts complaining, there is no money to buy out Doc, Legg, or anyone else. So, we just have to hope Doc can clean this up himself. Honestly, I think he will win get us back to a winning recored but at the end of the day Doc has a team full of kids that need non-stop help socially and academically.

Watch the birdie...big changes coming. So is Christmas. A major announcement is expected in July!

Most of us should remember from past experience everything the athletic department does is after the signing date of either basketball and football. They will have a reason why this could not be done until then.

Have I mentioned that if Legg is retained as OC I will not be attending a game next year. Pretty sure I mentioned that, but just mentioning it again .

Looking like Kiffin snatched up Briles while we let our buddy job hunt.

Uh, 73, don't you really mean "Doc's buddy"?

I would. Add another 1000 if meme litton is our qb

How long is this going to take? At this point it appears, even to me, that Doc cannot bring himself to make any coaching changes. I dare say most other programs have, by now, made theirs so what/why is this taking us so long? To me it looks as if Doc is satisfied with the status quo as he has not announced any coaching changes at all. It is as if he is hoping by waiting that we will forget the 2016 season and all be satisfied with his word that all will be better in 2017.

They've had a full month to do a post-mordem on the debacle that was our season. I tend to agree that we are going to roll with what we got. You would think you would want to announce changes asap so you can start working among the coaches on a new playbook, philosophy etc before spring practice begins.

However, there may be several players trying to figure out their transfer options before the next semester begins. I don't have any knowledge of anything, just thinking out loud.
