Still safer than marriage.Another thing to add to my to do list : don’t fly.
goddamn
Crashes happen in all transportation vehicles. I've seen MUCH worse on American soil.
Everyone knows the power of His name whether they admit it or not.Again...I thought you don't believe in God?
Again...I thought you don't believe in God?
I almost wonder if there were throttle issues. You'd think that much friction would slow the plane considerably but at the speed they plowed into the berm you have to wonder
It appears to be a belly landing...Didn't appear flaps were extended nor were the reverse thrusters deployed. The reverse thrusters may have jammed by the touchdown.
I don't understand how and why you dumbasses do not know how to post images without the imgur box around it.
^^^Just in case anyone thinks I don't live rent free in between magat's ears.

I did not realize that is you in that picture. Did you get to play with its toe?^^^Just in case anyone thinks I don't live rent free in between magat's ears.
A belly landing would likely prevent them from using reverse thrusters and/or flaps. Thanks Sherlock. I hadn't noticed.
Belly landing at what appears to be at considerable power. Name another reason for power if they didn't think the reverse thrusters were deployed.
No foam on the runway... Was there a fuel dump? How much distress was the plane and the crew in?
None of what they're saying makes sense. How does a bird strike disable the landing gear function? Why didn't they foam the runway or have a fire team at the ready? As you already noted, they didn't appear to be slowing? Just a weird, weird situation.Didn't appear flaps were extended nor were the reverse thrusters deployed. The reverse thrusters may have jammed by the touchdown.
Reports were of a bird strike which would have limited engine power but it seems like there was plenty of power to the engines. Maybe they thought the reverse thrusters were deployed and were giving it full power as a result.
Several questions and/or inconsistencies. Stressful and fast paced situation. Anything could have happened.

You are the one that is talking about them not using flaps and jamming the reverse thrusters. Thanks again Sherlock.
Power can come from thrust. So you can't answer the question?
You're a sick man.I did not realize that is you in that picture. Did you get to play with its toe?
You do not like camel toe? Are you more of a moose knuckle kind of guy? You're a sick man.

A small g refers to any and all gods. Hundreds of them in human history. I don't want to offend anyone by picking one out.Again...I thought you don't believe in God?

No but he milked it. The Camels name was Fred.I did not realize that is you in that picture. Did you get to play with its toe?

I believe I would like Yarilodamn since I’m always planting, but around here, Cemunnos rules and allows all the animals to eat the vegetation.I will use Yarilodamn, in reference to the Slavic god of vegetation.
A bird strike In engine compounded with a landing gear failure as well as no modern arrest systems at the end of the runway (the thin concrete that collapses when a heavy plane gets on it which adds additional drag. Looks like a lot of combined things happened all at once.It is. I think there was some initial panic both in the control tower and in the cockpit which likely resulted in some overreaction.
I think they may have used up much of the runway thinking the gear was down but they never touched down. When they realized they were running out of runway I think they tried to put their spurs in it but didn't have enough speed or momentum to pull up and the plane lost what little remaining altitude it had.
Or they thought they had touched down and were frantically trying to get the reverse thrusters to help slow the aircraft down.
