Someone’s head should roll for the Huff/bowl/portal disaster. Probably some equipment assistant manager will lose his job.
I'm interested to hear what you think actually happened. Your incessant whining about Marshall and Collegiate sports makes it a challenge to follow your logic on any of these topics.

Schools dont control the portal or the players that choose to go in it. Bowl...again, did you really want to see marshall piece meal a team together to get crushed in a bowl (aren't you also one to complain about the worthless bowl season?)??? Huff: He did not want to be here. Turned down previous contract extension offers. The school moved on. Who's head should roll exactly?

I agree that Marshall should not have played the bowl with a depleted roster and I stated such early on, but isn’t it an athletic director’s job to stay ahead of these things and made contingency plans for such events? I also realize the nature of the portal where a player can do what he chooses about transferring. However, I also read about schools that make a greater effort than we do to retain their players. As far as my my incessant whining, what the Hell do think silly message boards are for? You seem like a fun guy one minute then get all serious and bent out of shape the next. I can deal with that.

I generally live by a belief that if I'm going to complain about something, I better have a suggestion or a fix for that complaint. So, whining to just whine...yeah I might challenge the kind of person to give a little more effort to explain their position and how they want it fixed.

In this case, a contingency plan for unprofessional teenagers who change their mind because of some promise made to them....bahahahaha. You dont have kids do you? I think the only way to keep kids around prior to a bowl is give players a financial incentive to play in the bowl AND push the portal to later. I think a player should be required to be at the school for an entire calendar year if they have gone through the portal.

Kids are leaving every program. +Thousand have gone into the portal this year alone. It's not a surprise if your coach leaves, a larger contingent will follow or look for greener pastures simply because they are allowed to now. Not sure what contingency can be made for that. Considering we read and hear how "poor" Marshall and the community is...what can be done exactly..."Something" means $$. Money no one wants to pony up. Marshall fans better get used to a rotating group of players YOY.

We have a little different take on a message board. The one problem I find with them is that text doesn’t always convey tone. I like to kid, bitch, and have fun being generally sarcastic with the medium. And if I wish to “whine,” that is my prerogative.

In the post that seemed to irritate you, a previous post had mentioned Spears possible being fired. I sarcastically responded that someone should pay for the mess in the athletic department ( you would have to agree it has been somewhat of a mess) and that as usual, it would probably be the lowest person in the department: an assistant equipment manager.

Sorry if my style irritates you, but this is simply a fun place to come when I have a moment of boredom between some projects I am working on. If it gets too bad, skip over my posts or simply put me on ignore. I will stick by one of my comments that you seem to often be a fun guy and I enjoy your posts, we just have different personality styles.

👆100% Would fix some of it. Also, reportedly, some schools have tied NIL to the completion of bowl season.

I've watched many bowls thus far and many teams have stars playing the whole game.
Even teams with interem coaches. WVU and ECU being a couple.
Guess it depends on the exiting coach wanting the leave in a classy way or burn bridges and tell the kids to leave - as our former coach did

Agree. And it is my prerogative to ask those that bitch what they would do to fix what they are bitching about.

In the post that seemed to irritate you,
didn't irritate me at all. I just asked what you would do to actually fix what you're bitching about. I rarely expect much of a response when I do so.

Why would you fire a guy that isn't responsible for kids entering an NCAA portal process and moving on from a coach by all accounts who didn't want to be here? I seriously dont understand what your complaint is with the AD in this case. Marshall had their new coach lined up and signed on even before the bowl season started. Gibson has seemed to hit the ground running too with signed kids and hiring a new staff.
