Data from the National Education Association show that in 2016, West Virginia ranked 48th in average teacher salaries. Only Mississippi, Oklahoma and South Dakota sat below it in the rankings, which included 50 states and the District.

WV is one of the poorest states in the country. The cost of living is low. How high should they be on that pay scale?

I don't care where they are on that scale. I do care that over the last 9 years they've averaged a pay raise of 29 cents per hour per year using cabell county entry level pay rates.
