That was a doubles event not a team event. Singles and doubles are contested separate from the team competition.
My daughter was a keeper in youth and high school soccer. I HATED penalty kicks !!!!Man, if watching those penalty kicks doesn't make your butt crack tight, I'm not sure what would.

Nope. I believe a women’s double tennis pair actually played for a national championship several years ago. They lost.Am I right saying this is the farthest any Marshall team, any sport, has advanced in a NCAA D1 tournament?

The Herd is also 3rd place champion in C-USA East for like three or four timesWinning the FCS (1-AA) national championship in football was a team event, was a national championship, was a tournament, and contrary to what some people realize, is division one.
Lost to UCLA in the finals. Tennis is a SERIOUS sport at quite a few West Coast and PAC 12 schools. i believe some HERD players garnered All American honors making it as far as they did!Women's doubles tennis a few years back.
I can say with certainty that a lot of schools take all varsity sports very seriously. They are funded properly and expect athletic and academic excellence. I believe Marshall’s athletic dept. and the coaching staffs and players expect success, the only thing missing is funding. Which is always a big issue.Lost to UCLA in the finals.
