Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti's office says ICE's plan to release migrants in the state was "derailed," and pushback from the governor and lawmakers halted the plan.

I think it's less local govt's than it is the NGO's. Lots of Catholic-ish charities and local industry (food plants, factories) getting major major govt money and cheap labor.

I think sometime local politicians are out of the loop.

I just dont fully believe this. Local leaders have to know planes, buses, trains, etc are pulling into town to drop these kinds of #s off. Willful ignorance at the expense of their own constituents IMO.
