We all enjoy a good snack. Except for @murox, who eats like 700 grapes once a day and then fasts.

Let's talk about the best of the best. No goddamn Lay's chips, which are terrible.

Utz Pub Mix. I get this stuff at Sam's. It is GREAT with beer. Hell, here is some pictured with a beer:

I am a big fan of Mikesell's chips. The Good'n Hot chips are the tits, a little bit of barbecue smoke and a good deal of heat. It's that kind of heat that starts slow and builds and makes you want to keep shoveling more into your mouth to keep the fire going. Highly Recommended.

I will have a lot to say about cheeses later. Cheeses and dark, spicy mustards.

my daughter took some choc chip cookie dough, drenched it in melted chocolate then put it in the fridge last evening until the choc hardened. that was the wrong thing to have in the house in my condition. between a steak, that, and a 1/2 a bag of sour cream & onion chips, the munchies almost dissipated.

Nothing helps to bloat you up for 3 days like a 12-pack of cheap beer and these babies. You may want to look into a home peritoneal dialysis kit.

Simple, yet so good. Not at all the same as trying to get regular chips and throw black pepper on them, so don't even think of trying it.

What's your favorite bit in that mix? I gotta say the melba toast or whatever it's called

Both flavors are good choices. Funny how the simple stuff can be the best. A lot of times I just eat plain chips.

Salt and Vinegar is the shit. I prefer mine in a different brand, speaking of which have you tried these salt and vinegar chips? They are pretty intense, eat too many and your mouth and lips feel burnt and raw...for that reason I try to stay away from these when drinking, no self control at that point.

Grapes have too much sugar. Just berries for me.

I like dry roasted peanuts. Sometimes when I want to treat myself I’ll get the Planters salt and vinegar peanuts. Peanuts aren’t as healthy as other nuts, but they taste the best to me. Unfortunately a handful is like 600 calories, so you have to watch yourself.

Is anyone here really into cheese? I have been getting into the really older cheeses lately. I got some of this 1 year Gouda, and it was outstanding. The flavor is just intense enough that you don't eat a ton of it, just a little is satisfying while drinking. It paired well with a German marzen beer.

I've lost a little weight though by cutting those things out. I generally save them Saturdays every few weeks now.

They have been replaced most of the time with Almonds, Pistachios, Cashews and Peanuts

Dude, the pungent vinegar is what I love. I will have to try these for sure.

1) You all are freaks for picking salts over sweets.
2) Salt & Vinegar, especially Utz, are the best.
3) Kettle chips are awful replacements for real chips.
4) Cadbury Chocolate Almond bars are the best
5) Hershey's Golden Almond Nuggets are a good second, though they did change the recipe about two years ago to something healthier. I was able to taste the difference, called to inquire about why my chocolate tasted different, and they admitted to not publicizing that the recipe had changed for health reasons. They sent me $10 in free coupons and basically bought me off from spilling the secret. It's not unusual for my breakfast to consist of only 20 golden almond nuggets. Hershey's actual chocolate isn't any special, but the nuggets have the perfect ratio of chocolate and almonds.
6) Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream (especially Chunky Monkey, Cherry Garcia, and NY Super Fudge Chunk, and Everything But The . . . are the best.
7) Dove's Unconditional Chocolate ice cream is unbelievably underrated and cheap.
8) Dove milk chocolate promises are tied with Cadbury as the best pure chocolate taste.
9) The best ice cream ever created is Publix Premium Chocolate Trinity. It isn't a surprise that it is from Publix, as they also have the best subs to grace the planet.

LOVE aged cheeses.

Have you ever had this? It's dip made with Jarlsberg cheese

Cadbury Golden Crisp is the best candy bar on the planet. Unfortunately the only time I've had them in the US is when I ordered them on Amazon and they were shipped from the UK.

Best Ben & Jerry's is Tonight Dough. The peanut butter cookie dough in that is ridiculous.

peanut butter or caramel M&M's are game changers.

i love any kind of cheese except for sub89IQ's favorites, dick cheese and fermunda. never had those.

This one is a game-changer. They are hard to find in the U.S. but are all over England. You'll end up paying about $10/bottle after shipping, but they are worth it. I drink them on their own, but others claim that they are amazing with vodka:

I've had the hot dips...this one appears cold. Tell me more.

Dude, the first night I ate it, I was at a friend's house when she and her husband were throwing a party. I sat down at their kitchen island and a big bowl of this was in front of me. I didn't look at it closely, because if I did, I probably wouldn't have tried it. It looks like some sort of cold dish of hashbrowns, but the shredded stuff is the Jarlsberg cheese (which I had never tried before). I really don't know what to compare it to. Just pick some type of mild tasting salty cracker so as to not interfere with the taste of this dip and you won't be sorry. You can get the dip at Kroger, made by their deli department. I can't have it in my house or I will eat the entire container in one evening.

I will have to try some of this. I still have a 1/2 lb of Gouda in the fridge, I need to eat that first.

Do you have a gucci Kroger with the cheese shop? Try some of that 1 yr Gouda I posted. It's like $18 a pound, but it is rich enough you can get by with only buying a 1/3.

yeah, I'll make it a point to stop at Kroger next weekend and check it out. I'm also into sharp cheeses. I want it so sharp tasting that it will draw blood. Any particular brand for that?

Dollar for dollar IMO you can't beat Trader Joe's for specialty cheese. Not quite at the level of a farmers market or Whole Foods or something like Wegman's, but really good and really thrifty.

If you're going to name the best grocery store in the history of mankind, at least put some respect out your mouth and spell it correctly with no apostrophe.

I’ve only been in a few (in PA I think) so I’m certainly no Wegmans connoisseur.

My wife does all the grocery shopping, but one of the (very white/wasp) ironies of life is that I used to really like to go to Whole Foods and get a draft beer and look around and kind of shop. We never had any money though to actually buy substantial groceries there though.

Now I have the money but not the time and I’d probably get sent to prison for strolling around Whole Foods with a beer while my insane spawn run around screaming.

Biscoff Cookie Butter, spoon, and cold glass of milk. Snyders Buffalo Pretzel bits.

I know better than to buy any of the flamin' hot series. They have a decent heat level and I'm too stupid to eat just a small amount. I end up with shotgun shit the next morning. Every. Damn. Time.
I downed a whole bag of hot cheese puffs last night. I have paid for it all night and all day to day.

To what would you compare the heat level, flamin' hot Cheetos?
Very compatible, but better flavor. No grease and crisp. Maybe slightly hotter.

If you want the best snack ever take a Utz Red Hot and put cheez wiz on them. Just be sure to take an extra lipitor a day for a week. Seriously, it is incredible.

I loved Cheez Wiz when I was a kid. I remember slapping an inch thick layer on bread and making a sandwich out of it. Oh, and you probably need to add a blood pressure pill to that lipitor if you're going to be eating it nowadays.
