Like how it is setting up. We host FIU on Sat. Butch Davis’ squad flies up to Htgn off of a bye week, but I like our chances in the Joan. On that day, next up FAU travels to Bowling Green to play WKU. That should be a tough game for L Kiffen’s team. They have to fly back & get ready for us on a short week (Fri nite). The next week we are back home for the “Moonshine Throwdown” vs bitter rival WKU. Something tells me we will have a little extra sumpthin for the team we haven’t bested in 3 tries. Motivation/Great crowd/Beatdown.
That is as far as I am willing to go for now. Gonna be an exciting 3 games! Go HERD

Shameless repost to take this back to the top!
Further fact: Compared to other top-tier teams in CUSAEast, the Herd will play 3 of our last 5 regular season games in the Joan. All others are on the road for 3 oo 5. No place like home, where We Are......undefeated @ 3-0 for the 2017season.

The Marshall vs FAU game will determine the east division champion. I expect FAU to win at Bowling Green on Saturday.
It's almost as though you need to root for WKU to win this game on Saturday, just in case the Herd drops a game, especially if that game is a loss to FAU. With that said, I could never root for WKU.

I think Brohm gathered up all of WKU's mojo and moved it to West Lafayette, Indiana. The 'toppers are not nearly the force they have been the last few years.

Actually, we want to hope FAU wins. That would eliminate WKU from any real chance of winning the east. It would then make the FAU-MU game pretty much a winner take all. If we win it and then lose to someone else, we would be tied with FAU and we win the tie breaker

Well, based on looking at each team's remaining schedule, I'm going to respectfully disagree. Herd can knock WKU out of it by simply beating them at home. Even with a loss to FAU (on the road), FAU losing to WKU, as well as likely losing at La Tech would enable the Herd to win the East.

It wouldn't help us if WKU wins. If FAU beats us, and we both go 7-1, they will own the tie-breaker and would play in the championship game. We likely need to go 7-1 to play for the CUSA championship, so we need to beat FIU, FAU, WKU, and split with S. Miss and UTSA to get the spot. A loss to FAU probably ends our chances as they are favored in all of their remaining games.

Like I said, I see it differently than you. I'm anticipating Marshall beating WKU at home, and losing to FAU on the road, based on projections. Assuming Marshall's only loss is to FAU, then the Herd is going to need FAU to lose twice, so that's why I feel the Herd would prefer to see WKU beat them on Saturday, as well as hoping La Tech beats FAU when the Owls visit them a few weeks down the road. Otherwise, if FAU beats the Herd, you're going to need them to get beat by two opponents, which, based on the remaining schedule, likely won't happen.

But, bottom line, Marshall controls their own destiny, so win out, and they're hosting the title game.

This quote right here says it all. Win out and we win CUSA and we host the championship game. Don’t leave it in the hands of anybody else.
