LOL. No. I generally drink nothing on a weekday. Occasionally I will have a glass of wine, or a cocktail, if we are eating at some fancy place; our favorite restaurant makes a mean Old Fashioned, sometimes I order one. I also do not drink on Sundays, I want to be clear headed at work Monday morning. It's too easy to get into that "I'll drink a beer watching the game" trap where it turns into six beers.
I have basically given up a lot of drinking the last few years. Being honest. I hardly do it anymore. Making just a beer here and there. It just makes me feel like shit for too long now. Ruins me for a day or two. Not worth it.

Yet again you only see part of the picture. You quoted cable news numbers. Do you really think of ABC, CBS and NBC as conservative, or at best centrist? Heck no, they are just as liberal as their sister networks... During election cycles even ESPN is a cheerleader for the Left with political bias on their shows.
While the ratings don't necessarily lie, the application of them can. Adding ABC, CBS and NBC news viewers and the scale tips dramatically in the other direction with daily viewership of 8, 5 and 7 million respectively.

No one watches the big networks' news for politics, they just leave the TV on after the local news goes off. The local news is where it's at: weather, sports, murders and crime. With weather being the most important, people are fiercely loyal to their favorite local TV mets.
Hell, the only time I watch the big network news is when a friend sells them video. And usually I have already seen the video (sometimes I was there myself and saw the same tornado), it's just cool seeing their name on TV. A few times friends have been interviewed on there, I'll watch that too.
Millions of ill-informed voters out there, at last count 81 million of them... only a small % of those watch cable news. A significantly larger % watch, and get their thoughts and opinions from, network news.
And these see how much of negative reporting to affect their views???

People are getting the lcoal weather, sports, and murders, and just leaving the TV on while they eat until Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy comes on. Except for the people who chose local news based on their favorite met. Now the best TV met in the nation, although not in the largest market, is James Spann....on an ABC affiliate. A coincidence? Of course not. It's all about the weather and Wheel of fvcking Fortune. And then at 7:30 you get reminded by Jeopardy of how stupid you are. Unless you are like me, my wife won't watch it with me anymore because I say the question before they finish the answer.
The REAL news watchers, that really give a shit what the national media says, they go to cable. Voter turnout is embarrsingly low, except for POTUS and that's more like a class president popularity race than anything else. The majority of people simply don't give a fvck. That is the media has created a sound-bite mentality in the general populace that accepts things at face value with no further inspection. In doing so their biases are projected upon this same populace. CNN told me so it must be true. They are unbiased... Fox said it so it must be false. They are biased..
