Saw a tweet from him earlier today saying it was his last ride with the team and have saw various other tweets from different sports writers talking about his departure. Anyone know the reason behind this ? That is a huge loss for next year

Links to various sports writers talking about his departure please ? I haven't seen anyone talking about this other than his tweet supposedly him and our fanbase .

Man we have lost so much talent. Do teams have this many people either leave or transfer after a winning season? Or get kicked off?

Probably. You just don't hear about it much unless it's either A) A local team, or B) A big name player on a big name school.

Must have his differences with Doc or Legg, wants to transfer to a bigger program, or wants to get close to home. Anyways, I wish him the best of luck. I still have faith that our defense will be pretty damn good next year.

Interesting. Another starter deciding to transfer/quit the team.

Whats the tally up to for us losing starters (removed from team or decided to leave) or key contributors the last couple years?

We...will...survive.

No organization can survive in the long run with high turnover. And, some of these guys leaving are future play makers or current contributing members of the team.

We might survive, but at what level. It appears that a few of the CUSA teams have caught and perhaps passed us. Right now, I would say Southern Miss, WKU, and Middle Tenn will be on paper better than us next year. Attrition is not a good thing.

I'm not one to speculate, but there has to be more to this than Tyndal leaving to enter the draft... I can't imagine he is going to be drafted.

Family stuff? Academics? Who knows.

If it were simply an issue with the coaches he could transfer (there are plenty of schools that need DB's) so I would guess it's something off the field.

His Mother passed recently and he has 2 younger brothers he has to take care of.

It isn't how you get into the NFL, its THAT you get into the NFL. I could definately see him being a practice squad, or even special teams player in the NFL. He can flat out tackle when he's not hurt. Sidebar, can you believe how Kendal Gant is coming along????

And his best opportunity to do that would be to stay in school.. Both for his future as a player and his future period.. I see Tindal ending up very much like Darius Marshall.. Good player but he's not going to excite NFL scouts.. If he truly wants to play in the NFL his best option is to come back for his senior year and try to improve his game.. Solid player and one we will miss but not one the NFL will, especially not at the moment.. But, in another year who knows, maybe.. However, I don't blame the kid for the choice.. When you lose a close loved one and you're grieving it is hard to think clearly and rationally sometimes.. Just wish someone he was close to could do the clear thinking and give him some good advice

Tindal has his degree already. D Marshall didn't, he smoked his chances away. Tindal is a leader and has the work ethic. Plus maybe he got a draft grade, saw what happened to Rockhead this year plus you add his life situation and figured now is his best chance. Plus I believe he is 22 I believe.

It's hard to be judgmental in this instance without knowing all the facts. Some kids just don't like going to school and having to maintain eligibility. I have no idea what his grades are like but he was a non-qualifier to begin with. Has he done just enough to remain eligible or has he done enough to graduate?

Didn't his mother die recently? Does he have family obligations that have forced his hand to start earning a paycheck to help offset expenses at home? While opting for the NFL draft seems like grasping at straws to me, just making the practice squad should help him earn more money that simply entering the workplace, especially if he lacks hours to graduate.

Like I said, I don't know the full story but I can see how certain kids look at things based on covering athletes for a number of years. It wouldn't be the first time a student athlete made a poor or pressured decision about his future. o_O

If someone were to write a soap opera about Marshall football based on the baseless assumptions and guesses and conjecture people offer up here, I'd watch it.

Need to find a way to make sure all the characters' names are misspelled in the credits too.

Well, somebody hold off on the final transcript, because supposedly there are a couple more players who are disgruntled and talking about leaving the program. Each individually would be yet another huge loss.

But, we are just humble fans who aren't worthy of knowing anything about the program other than what excuses we are fed by Doc.

He tweeted that he's leaving because he already has his degree(contrary to some of your beliefs) and he will be 25 years old in March. Makes a little more sense, still think he should stay but sounds like he's gone

Wasn't aware he had his degree.. It's a long shot he gets drafted or gets a serious look but I looked up his age, he'll be 25 when next year ends, and since he has his degree it isn't nearly as poor of a choice as I initially thought.

Stop believing Message Board rumors

If you covered Athletes for Years, you would have known he has his degree already

That's true but I have been on injured reserve this year while battling cancer so I have no knowledge of this issue which is why I said in my post that I didn't have the complete story.

So that's your excuse??? If you found time to post on here the last 5 days, then you would have known he had his degree

Jock, hope you're doing well. Prayers to you.didn't know of your battle.

Thanks. My cancer is not curable but it is treatable. Obviously, as Fever as sarcastically noted, I have time to post on message boards but I have not covered one football or basketball game this season.
