First off, Mark Snyder saved his job by blaming the players.
Secondly, the game was not well executed, but sometimes it really comes down to expectations. This team has been hit with injuries...it has also been hit with replacing players. Finally, it was hit with lower expectations across the board...several on here felt we would drop 2-3 games a season.
However, as a WR, you are expected to run your route correctly and catch the ball. As a QB you are expected to throw the ball, check the line, and improvise. As a coach, you are expected to make decisions tonput the team in positions to score and defend. As a kicker you are expected to adjust, aim, and make field goals.
It really came down to the kicker...multiple times he had the chance to redeem himself, thats something you do for someone on the team...he didn't execute...his expectations were short.
However, some on here just will never accept Doc as a head coach...and say he will be stuck here forever...
Winning 10+ games a season, conference championships, NCAA records broken, individual accolades, national noteriety, etc.
Well, I'm glad he is stuck here then...
The schedule has been against us from the start in terms of measuring tools, but hey, Doc has shown he can go on the road and beat notable programs with inexperienced talent...for example, Louisville.
But hey, lets continue to say Doc and his staff are overrated...cause its not like we were picked to win the conference diviosion again this season and its not like we dont control our own destiny.
Oh, that's right...
We are still very much in contention for the East...
I guess Doc has exceeded expectations this year...with about half the team he had the prior year.
Actually we werent picked to win the East this year.....
IF this season goes the way the coaches voted and the way it appears at this point, Doc will have won the conference one time in 7 years......... We could still pull a shockers same as WKU did last year, so I guess we'll reserve full judgement till after the season.
My point was that we were not picked to win the East and yet, we are still in contention for the East, Doc thus, surpassing expectations already...even with this loss.
I bet you can't wait to see us lose...so you can go on here and claim how right you are...if only lousy people like you actually spent time doing productive things, this state wouldn't be so terrible.
Well we're 2nd place in the division, which is where we were picked to finish so we are right in line with expectations. MY point is after 7 years, 2nd place in the east doesn't do it for me. I hope we exceed expectations, but Ive seen very little from this staff over the years to lead me to believe that will happen. And if it doesnt happen, 1 conference championship in 7 years in this dumpster fire of a conference isnt worth building an alter to worship someone on.
So winning with half a team doesn't cut it for you?
I think he's referring to Doc's entire body of work. Considering the level of competition we've faced, folks expect to be able to win even with our 2nd string. For most of the teams we've played, that's actually not unreasonable.
I used to think that after he got some head coach experience, one of the lower tier Power 5 teams would hire him but at this point I believe Marshall is absolutely secure with Doc staying there for the duration. He has not had a signature win over a top flight team that would attract attention from a major program. No big program in their right mind would take this guy as a head coach, great recruiter, more talent than most teams we play, lack of coaching, execution and balls.
I am glad he is here but let's be honest he is not a big program head coach.
With all injuries and outside issues I am still happy with 8-2, beat WKU and win the east , you have the head to head tie breaker win.
It sucks losing this way but the sun will rise tomorrow. If you had the Herd getting 3, you got a push
