This kid must really love Marshall. I mean think about it. He's 4th string and might be 5th string by next game when Tyler King comes back and maybe even 6th once Knox comes back. We've seen him play and he can be a productive running back. He's even been a captain at points since he's been here and played a large part in a close win at Kent State.

So many of us fans fall victim to stars and want to call Doc to the carpet when a player leaves. Everything from Doc can't relate to his players to he flat out lies to them about starting. How do you explain Tony Pittman if that were true? He could transferred down last year and in this off season and most likely would be a starter or a #2 back on an FCS team. Also he graduated. Not sure how the NQ rule works with Grad Transfers, but if it's the same as with Qualifiers he could have transferred to a lower FBS program to seek playing time. He was once a three star (later downgraded to a 2) with offers from P5 programs. He's not a slouch that should be lucky to even be on the sidelines.

He's not the only guy that stays here and you scratch your head at. Several of which have never shown the production Pittman has yet you know they want to play ball.

We flock to this board ready to explode when a Darian Owens or Shurod Thompson leave before playing or an AJ Leggett or Angelo Jean-Louis let their ego lead their way yet there is never a word said about the guys like Tony Pittman that just comes to practice every day, shows up to meetings, and works hard in the classroom. To my knowledge he's never once ran to twitter to tear apart this team or the coaching staff.

For all the talk that Doc must be doing something wrong he sure must be doing something right. If Doc is so out of touch and runs off his players then what on earth keeps a guy like Tony Pittman here?

Just a thought.
