why do we just accept that we can't function without an underclass of people that just HAVE to be here to make the country run better?
also it's not going to be an overnight thing.
It may very well be true that is may be detrimental to the economy or prices but modeling this is really difficult. Complex systems bend and flex and I think predicting what this will do to our economy and prices is really difficult to predict.
Like other complex things like infectious disease/public health, why can't our leaders just say there is uncertainty involved....

With that said we are a sovereign country and get to decide who comes and goes into our country and clearly the electorate is not happy with how things have gone on the border in the past four years. If we have a massive worker shortage/problem we will address that as we go and work on the work permit system, but as it stands now we have a massive influx of people into the this country that did not come here legally by first principles we are going to rectify that."
