Trump Eyeing 10% Middle Income Tax Cut

We all know who lost that argument. Move on.

Also, I never said that I was always the one correcting you. You said that. But the fact remains that you often struggle with 5th grade level math on here. If you want to dig the threads up, go ahead. I’m certainly not the only one who has noticed it.

Yes, it was the guy who couldn't do basic math and then tried blaming the other guy weeks later for making imaginary math errors.

Are you two referring to the vote spread thread or the one involving a reverse stock split?

The swing vote thread. The one where I posted a link stating exactly how to determine a swing vote. It agreed exactly with my explanation. Then, BC said that certain countries have different definitions and formulas to determine the swing vote.

It was almost as good as when he tried arguing that Earth is only 6000 years old, because carbon dating is fake.

If memory serves me correctly you were correct with the vote spread, BC and Banker were correct with the valuation of your stock portfolio after a reverse stock split.

There was no argument/disagreement about the reverse stock split. I had no idea what the fvck that was and was asking them if my understanding was correct.

Stick to discussions about penises.

Some of you guys are equating withholdings on your paycheck with the actual taxes you will pay. The new Trump tax plan hasn’t seen its first April yet. You’ll know your real savings when you file your taxes this April.

Let's take an average american family of four with $100k in income and taking a standard deduction.

In 2017, their tax liability would be $7,733.

In 2018, their tax liability would be $4,739.

That is a significant cut. Obviously, there will be winners and losers, but most middle class families will see similar results.

I think you're misinterpreting my post. I'm not saying that people won't benefit. I benefit personally from the change because I have a pass through business that will get the 20% tax break. The change in the tax bracket rate can be as high as 3%. If you have kids the tax credit is much better. The increase in the standard deduction may or may not help you though, because they eliminated the individual exemption. So depending on whether you itemize or how many people are in your family will determine if it helps you or not. But overall I agree that it will decrease taxes for many people.

What I'm saying is that people are equating the change in their bring home pay with their actual taxes. It's not the same thing. Withholdings are not the same thing as actual taxes paid. You determine that when you file.
