U.S. Men's Soccer

Why are we so bad? We have tremendous athletes in this country, top-notch training facilities, good coaches, and money. We compete at the highest level in most other major team sports - basketball, baseball, etc. Hell, our women are consistently one of the best soccer teams in the world. That being said, why do the men suck so bad? Btw, this is mostly rhetorical. I know why we suck. I just needed to vent.

I kid...I kid. Kinda. I will say this...my son in law is a huge soccer fan. He was born in Russia (moved here at age 3), and he has gotten my daughter into it. My new grandson will surely be heading down that road. So I guess I better learn a little about it because I'm sure I'll be sitting in a lawn chair watching him play it in the near future.

All you need to know about soccer is it's low scoring people flop and roll around like babies then hop up 20 seconds later and are perfectly fine. watching good soccer and bad soccer is almost indistinguishable.

I wouldn't exactly call me a wrestler. I walked off the mat 37 years ago never to pay much attention to the sport again. Maybe if I was better at it.

I actually watch soccer all the time. Obviously there's a big difference in a Brazilian national team and a high school team. My comment was geared more towards the Rec/youth levels

I respect wrestlers just about as much as any other sport. It is a brutal grind. You can half ass your way through many other sports at certain times. Not wrestling. The practices are jnsanely tough.

Wrestlers have a saying. If wrestling were easy they would call it basketball

Didn't say it wasn't tough just less of a sport than soccer but certainly more than NASCAR

How is it less of a sport than soccer? Soccer matches frequently don't even have a winner or loser.
