Why not? it has turned into a professional game. Apparently, he has worked into the deal one of the largest NIL money pools in the country. The released a coach because he was old but, hire another one roughly the same age.

Interesting hire. Hire a pro coach who knows how to work contracts and fill free agency needs. Is this the wave of the future? Is it going away from come to X University because you love the program and you can walk away with a degree? Is it about agents and free agency now? Follow the pro model.

Belichick is a bad person. He was a successful football coach, so he was allowed to treat other people badly. Fans, press, and the players.
That won't translate into college. In the pros, some guy (in this case, also a bad person) owns the team. In college, you are begging rich guys to give you money so they can rib the other rich guys about how "their" team did. They don't own anything, and their only reward is a shirt anyone can buy at Walmart. He lacks the ability to be nice. And in the pros, you select the players. Players are stuck playing for him and his extreme methods. In college the players select you, and players will decline to his Marine basic training level extremist level of life and go see Dabo.

Yes. His son who is the current DC at Washington being named HCIW was one of his stipulations for taking the job.

He also gave UNC a 400 page "Football Bible" and told them he would also only take the job if they agreed to it.
