Yes, Southern is one of those who, out of necessity, play a lot of road games against "majors" for $$$$ to keep their athletic budgets going. What advantages in resources, fan support, $$$$, do Southern and NJIT have over MU? Little or none, I'm sure. But in 2018-19, thus far, it seems that in basketball those schools are getting more bang for the buck.
MU has lost 6 games to date by 1, 11, 17, 24, 36 and 37 points. Average margin of loss thus far is 21 points; 33 points against the 3 "major" foes. Not much there in terms of building a resume for post season or for encouraging/growing fan base support, is there? Fact is the numbers indicate that MU, pretty much, against QUALITY foes, is not very competitive this season!

Got it. Our admission standards aren’t causing any nightmares for prospective students. Gotta be more to it.
I don't think Marshall has scheduled any teams in descent. Most of them appear to be playing at a high level.
I think our issues were more us than anything to do with UVA. Our guys don't look like they even know how to play basketball anymore.
We are very close to full collapse mode. ODU is 10-3 against a better schedule; UNCC looks like garbage, but has either played below its level or far above it, so who knows; WKU has a mediocre record against a solid schedule including winning over Wisconsin, Arkansas, and WVU; both directional Floridas look like losses, the two UT branches look solid; LTU is solid; and UNT has one loss, on the road to 11-1 Oklahoma . Other than Middle and Rice, it is hard to find a game you would bet $20 on the Herd straight up.
Of course, we could get hot in the conference tournament and who knows? Yep, that is a plan there, boy.

I know I was pretty dam close on my predictions there, huh?
There are some who said MU wasn't going to lose more then five games all year.
GIVE IT TIME........Herd Hoops needs all the $upport we can give them......time for some of "that football support" from our AD funnels over to basketball.....
