Reading their message board, they seem to think that Coach Huff is the, or at least a leading contender to be their next HC, as soon as next year.

I assume folks are joking or just messing around- I can assure you an ACC team will not be plucking a first year coach sitting at 6-4 in C-USA lol

Better names out there than Huff. For Tech to take a chance on a first year coach currently with a 6-4 record in the worst D1 league in the country would be a huge stretch and leap of faith. Frankly, it would be a very stupid move on their part. JMO.

This is silly. Comparing the recruiting pitch at Alabama v. at Marshall as justification that a coach is not a capable recruiter defies any form of logic. It is not an apples and oranges comparison, its an apples and dolphins comparison... completely unrelated.

Of course it is an easier sales pitch comparing when Alabama to Marshall... but that's not who Alabama is who competing with. Texas, Ohio State, ND, Georgia, etc. all have the same shiny toys and claims. Its about how you compete based on your situation and other in similar situations.

And no, there is no chance he goes to VT after this season.

You're right, and Huff has to contend with what MU does not have vs. what others do.
Despite being in the G5, MU still is at a bit of a disadvantage when compared to others.

He, supposedly, was offered the job the last time out, but was told he had to keep Shane Beamer (son of Frank) and Bud Foster, which DickRod declined. Those issues have been resolved, as Foster is getting the axe and Beamer is HC at USC.

Yes, he coached with Fuente for 4 years before he retired.
