He got annihilated 70-6. Impressive stats too: 7/12 43 yards and 1 INT

Did a little better with score of only 42-10 stats: 13/25 62 yards

He may have played at a couple big schools, but I don't agree that it is going to give him all that much of an advantage at this point, especially since one was 3 years ago and the most recent being played 2 years ago.

How he did surrounded by a bunch of below average FCS players is irrelevant to the discussion that we were having which was that his experience is basically high school football. His experience accounts for far more than that, as he has played at BYU, Boston College, Rice, and UMass, all of which are on par or better than C-USA football.

But that is assuming next year another transfer QB doesn't come in and take the spot again. If I redshirt and practiced with the 1s during spring/fall and can't start over a transfer with limited practice time I am going to consider whether I would be the starter here ever... let alone 2 years. Like I have said before, I hope whoever starts does great and we win and everyone is happy and no one leaves the program and we all live happily ever after. I am just more cynical i guess and worry about it.
There won't be another grad transfer unless multiple QBs leave after the season. We already have two good QB commits in the 2019 class that are rated as 3-star recruits across the services that will both need time to develop in order to challenge Green or Morrell. One of those QBs is expected to enroll in January and would likely be the 3rd or 4th string QB so we should be fine in 2019.

If you go by the rumors. I always find it funny that Foster was right there with him and there is never a word said about him. Foster also fought a recruit a recruit for talking trash to him. For the record screw Baker or whatever his name was.

Litton was guilty of some stuff for sure, but I feel the narrative spun out of control just like this one is doing with Green. While mods couldn't have commented on specifics very little was done to squash the more outlandish claims. I know exactly why Litton and Foster were suspended and it not as bad as the attacks on him warrant. Again he deserves some backlash as he let his ego blow up in 2016, but the narrative should have been different.

Same here. We are getting cryptic posts that insinuate that Green is a horrible guy off the field. Whether that is what is true or not or even intended to be said, that is what is being interpreted from all caps posts and steadfast stances behind a kid that has been here a little over two months and can't throw on a consistent basis.

What I would love is if we can just forget about Litton. Just move on and leave the past in the past. He's gone. 2018 is a new season and a new era in Herd football. Gone are two of the biggest points of frustration for Marshall fans. Litton and Legg.

Amen on moving on.
On the surface, based on talent, Green could be one the best if/when given the chance. If he doesn’t bail on us. Jmo

CL may be the most toxic player ever to put on the Herd uniform.

Not even close. Not even in the top 20 of the past five years I've been following Marshall football. Litton's saga just played out more publicly than others. I'm far from a Chace Litton fan, but in the balance, his behavior, play, and contributions to Marshall football were more positive than negative.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Frankly, I am ready to move on.

I've said it before and I will say it again I do not understand all this hype for an injury prone QB that played at a lower level and posted mediocre numbers. What has he done that would make anyone think he is some great QB talent? Because his ex coach said so? Because he went to Phil Simms QB Academy and Simms said good things about him?

I guess I will pile on too ! But if you have 2 QB's you have none.

When you waste a scholie on an injured player from a small program and then find out he is who he is why waste more time in preseason preping 2 guys ???

Measurables... Pure and simple... The guy looks the part, so the thought is that he is ready to play the part.

I have no problem with bringing the kid in and I certainly don't feel like its a waste of a scholarship (I still think he starts tomorrow), but I do have a problem if this QB "competition" has been a dog and pony show and AT was given the starting job based on anything other than his merit on the field.

Anybody else wonder what the arrangement between Thomson and Simms was? Like does Phil Simms just roam the earth, looking for young QBs to mentor, or is Thomson's family rich AF and got him a pro tutor?

We, unlike previous years have 3 serviceable QB’s who can run our new OC system apparently. Pass 25-45 yds accuratley and run with the FB which has not happened since RKato! I am more interested in our OC schemes week to week. Go Herd!

something Simms a bit off

If AT starts, it's going to be Birdsong all over again. Minus the win against a p5 school. Save him until the shoulder fully heals (if it ever does). Green makes the most sense to me.

Honestly how can you do that? Pull Green in 3-4 weeks or so for Thomson. Unless Green stinks it up and has to be pulled or pulls a "Cato at UCF" type stunt then Thomson is an after thought for the starter.

It's not like he's a returning starter coming back from injury.

I honestly don't even know why people keep bringing this up as an option like Thomson is so much better than Green. Too many off us bought into the hype on this guy. Myself included. Since he's been here he has donr zero to deserve the job over Green.

Green is the future of this program and the future is now.

Dude, there’s so much that goes on behind the scenes, you (and we) really don’t know.

Making definitive statements like above is where a lot of the confusion starts among fans.

Yea I'm confusing them.

Dude. If Green goes out and plays well you cannot pull him when Thomson gets healthy just because Thomson got healthy. Talk about nuking the lockerroom.

I don't care how great of a guy Thomson is and Green may or may not be. Thomson just go5 here 2-3 months ago, couldn't practice consistently, and when he did was hardly with the 1s.

You're sending a message that he's on a different level of favor than anyone else.

Now if Green stinks it up and a switch needs to be made then fine.

I like Green too. I think he'll be the starter. It's hard to gauge how good Thomson is because he's not 100%. There is nothing to be gained from him starting tomorrow imo.

I think there's more to Green than is being told. If those concerns are found to be legit, I want Thomson as close to 100% as he can be if he's called upon.

Btw I'm still waiting for the bleeds roster.
