Who has the best change to make the team ???

Steep decline? Minus 2016 there hasn't been a steep decline. MU has always been in contention for the East, unlike the previous regime.
As the narrative has been since he got here...its not Doc coaching the good players, its the players ignoring his calls and doing it themselves.
Also, you wouldn't have had such backlash from players when certain coaches got fired.
Once more, its just a Doc hating comment from the fools who wish Pruett would come back...and get mad at Hamrick each day Pennington isn't somehow more involved than he already is.
MU was in a conference with few willing to toss money and make everyone win. Now MU is in one with some deep pocketed peers and is needing to contend every season instead of coast.
Get over it.
MU is not in the worst position it has or could be in...but somehow this eludes you.

Don't confuse the Doc Haters/Danny Worshipers (99.9% the same people) with FACTS and LOGIC. To the Doc Haters, MU should win every game it plays, every year, simply by showing up. After all We Are Marshall. The the Danny Worshipers, MU fans should be happy with whatever happens. After all we are just Marshall.

Special teams.
Yulee played very good on special teams, but also played 169 snaps at LB in 2018, which was the 6th most. He would have played quite a few more snaps, but he was backup to Hancock and Hernandez, and both of those guys rarely came off the field and were among our best defensive players. Yulee is currently the starting MLB so lets see how 2019 goes before calling him a "bust" or "in the dog house" player.

If you consistently have the top ranked recruiting class in the conference, being in contention for your division really shouldn't be the mark for success.

I would argue that the rankings are fairly accurate and that we generally have better players than the other teams in the conference. I also don't think Doc is a bad coach, he just has one fatal flaw - he doesn't understand game flow, momentum, what ever you want to call it. He just either doesn't have that feel or lacks the willingness to fail in trying to control it. He doesn't seem to know when to, or is just afraid to, seize opportunity.

Personally, I think he understands it, it just scares him. He's always going to play the safe way. If you're up 7 with 6 minutes to go and sitting 4th and 1 on your opponents 40, you're punting. It's the text book play because the odds of the other team scoring a TD starting at their 25, or worse, is under 25%. I'm not one of these guys who believe you always go for it, but you have to feel what is going on, how your team is playing, have a feel for the determination of your line and the heart of your back, or the confidence of your OC to make the right call.

Doc always seems to put his trust in the defense, but never the offense. At some point that has to frustrate the offensive players. Have confidence in them to make a play and break the other team a little more often.
