But let me ask you this: if a prosecutor ran on a campaign of going after organized crime or drug lords, would that be a poison pill? Or if a Congressman ran on a campaign of impeaching Joe Biden, should they abstain from voting should that come up?
Is it proportional to gains/profits from the fraud? The math says yes. Excessive doesn't mean shockingly high to the lay person. Me as a lay person, yes it is excessive...but legally is another issue.And the 8th amendment does apply. It’s not just for criminal cases but also civil.
