I've got $5 that says you have not thought this through.
Why would China switch from a game they are winning to one they probably would not?
First, it's not like China can just sail in and take it over. Taiwan has 300k regular troops and a reserve of 3.6 million.
Second, let's think about what China would have to do to take Taiwan. It would be one of two ways. First, a blockade. This would actually be the easiest thing for the US to respond to, as that action would be an easy sell. China likes to act like they would want a naval confrontation with the US, but much like Russia and an air confrontation, they really do not want that. They like to play little intimidation games to look tough and use photos and video to look tough to their people. Right now, today, we have two carrier groups in/near Japan. China is not fvcking with that. The second way would be to missile strike the shit out of Taiwan. That is bad juju, the kind of dumb shit that would piss off every nation that would potentially back the USA.
China's game is soft power. It's economic, it's building roads and ports in places they want to use for resources. It's the world being dependent on its cheap shit....tariffs lol, China grew exports under US tariffs. Fvck around bad enough and then countries consider actual national boycotts of their shit.
China's leadership is rational and smart. They are not crazy Arabs.
All this hand-wringing about Biden and China while sitting quiet the last four years as it concerns Trump and Putin...now, it was just discovered Russia launched a cyber attack against the US on Trump's watch.

It's not like we can really respond to the Russians. An escalation in cyberwar would be good for no one, and believe me we could escalate right now if we wanted to.
But to not even talk about it or condemn Russia? That is what is amazing...or not, given what any of you might think about Trump. Hell, from a campaign standpoint it would have been a good rally-around-the-flag moment for Trump, that makes it even more bizarre....and a way for Trump to say "see, I told you I am not Putin's boy."

No. Hong Kong was already now China's. All China has done to Hong Kong is violate the principle of "one country, two systems" as outlined in the Sino-British Joint Declaration.

Taiwan has a legit military. Taiwan's air force is larger than those of France, Britain, and Saudi Arabia. Taiwan has a larger army than Iran.

Taiwan can inflict real damage on China's navy and air force. They are not a pushover. They have F-16s (by 2023, they will have 120 V spec), Mirages, and their own domestic fighter that is more than serviceable and was designed largely by US defense and aerospace contractors. They rock Harpoon missiles.
This would not be Russian rolling into Ukraine...not militarily, and not how pissed off the world would be.
If the Chinx roll into Taiwan we weill be in there along with Great Britain, Australia, and we might let the South Koreans in some action and they hate the Chinese. Others might join.

I'm talking purely about cybersecurity improvements. Granted, civilians only have some idea but on the cybersecurity front, the Trump administration isn't heads & shoulders above the Obama administration when it comes to this.

In very important news, Biden, is excpected to lift the ban on transgenders in the military and will also issue memorandum that they are to serve in leadership positions. It is not sure whether they can actually deploy because of medications. Diabetics cannot as the military' cannot guarantee delivery of medications in combat zones.
