My Schedule

So that all of you can stay abreast of my life, since so many of you start threads about me and make random comments about me:

- Last night, my old friend John Legend invited me to his show at the beautiful outdoor venue The Greek Theatre. Just like tonight, he sold it out last night. I couldn't figure out why his best friend/head of team asked what my license plate number was, but I soon figured out that answer: When you get close to the venue/Griffith Observatory, it is a great neighborhood. They don't want concertgoers driving on their narrow streets, so they have private security who use cones and wands to redirect traffic all to main streets and avoid the residential shortcuts. Of course, this backs up the main entrance to a substantial wait. But each time I would approach one of those roadblocks, one of the two security guards at each corner would wand me through and have the cones moved while everybody else was blocked.

John had made sure I didn't get stuck in that and made sure the neighborhood security was looking for my vehicle.

Then, when I got to the venue, I went to the will-call window. I told them that I was on the guest list, and after confirming that it was for John and not the venue or promoter guest list, the attendant said "Yes, we've been expecting you. Please follow the sidewalk to where it says 'Redwood.'" I walked down to the other will-call booth and entrance and was annoyed at how long the line was to get in. Everybody has to pass through metal detectors, so the lines were very long. Me with commoners? That's not a fair mix.

Luckily, I saw a separate area that said "Redwood." So I could skip that line and go to the VIP area where they had refreshments and food waiting for me.

The show and format were phenomenal; the best I have seen from him, and I've seen him in Jacksonville, Austin, DC, and now Los Angeles. A huge audience that the video shows:

After the show, John introduced me to one of this children whom I hadn't met before, and about 20 of us hung out on the VIP porch including some other big-names, but as you all know, I am not a name-dropper and don't brag.

- Today, I woke up and walked to the farmer's market for breakfast. I then walked from there to the gym to do crippled-cardio while my ocean view was distracted by numerous thongs.

This evening, I have a few things I want to do. My neighborhood has an outdoor motown concert with food trucks that is a few blocks from me. It's their first time hosting this summer event. John also told me to come up again tonight, since he won't have to shake hands and kiss babies with so many people tonight. But the owner's of the Mets also are in town and invited me to come to the game against the Angels tonight. So I accepted their offer and may head up to the end of John's show after.

I will be sitting in the seat circled in orange. So for any of you who get MLB network, make sure you tune in and see me every single fvcking pitch. If you see a man or woman come sit next to me on the steps, it's just the owners of the Mets, who are also the wealthiest owners in MLB.

Euthanasia

Anybody opposed to euthanasia? I not only have no issue with it, but I actually support it with some major qualifiers:

- certain age
- significant psychological clearance ruling out mental illness
- significant waiting period requiring psychological evaluations throughout

I am not in support that the person must have a terminal illness.

Interesting development going on in Switzerland with it:

Meat Smokers, get in this thread

get yore mind out the gutter . . .

i have a brisket i'm going to put on the traeger this weekend. this will be my first brisket on the traeger.

i've searched the interwebs for smoked brisket recipes and have found the following methods appear to be most common (everything below is something i've read in an article, post, heard in a video, etc):
  • brisket prep/trim:
    • about all of what i've read/watched indicate clean the top up really well and get rid of all the silver skin
    • leave about a 1/4 inch fatcap on the bottom
    • trim the brisket "aerodynamically" so the smoke more easily circles the brisket (smoker has no fan to circulate air so not sure this will help)
  • seasoning:
    • salt, pepper, garlic are the most common seasonings used, nothing more; although, there's many out there that add in various types of seasoning.
    • have read the ratio of pepper to salt should be around 60/40 and heavily applied with a moderate coating of garlic powder.
    • another video indicated use a moderate covering of table salt as the smaller grains will penetrate the meat easier and use a 16 mesh pepper for the same reason, although the pepper should be applied lighter than the salt.
    • i'm likely going to go SPG with another seasoning but not sure what yet.
  • heat and time:
    • have read everywhere from 200 to 275 degrees for the first "X" number of hours.
    • have read the final temp should range everywhere from 190 to 203 degrees.
      • those that say 190 indicate it should be wrapped and put back on at 250 to 275 to get temp up to 203. ultimately, the final temp off the smoker should be around 203.
    • just about everything i've read/watched indicates to wrap the brisket in butcher paper and place in a cooler for a minimum of 2 hours.
  • spritz:
    • some say spritz every 45 minutes to an hour for the first 5 hours
    • some say close the lid on the grill and forget about it until that temp probe reads the desired final temp
my plans:
  • trim as indicated, not so worried about the "aerodynamics".
  • season with moderate to heavy layer of table salt, moderate layers of pepper and garlic powder, and a layer of other seasoning to be determined
  • smoke to 190-195 internal at 225 on super smoke setting along with the smoke tube filled up for additional smoke. wrap brisket and smoke to 202/3 internal, pull off, wrap, place in cooler for 2 to 3 hours.
  • not sure about spritzing yet.

Grant Fisher!

You morons skipping the Olympics are missing out on a lot.

Grant Fisher from the U.S. just won a bronze in the 10,000 meters (just over six miles). He is the second American in over 50 years to medal in this event. He was up against three Kenyans, a Ugandan, three Ethiopians, and a confused Canadian. The dude turned it on during the last lap. If you all can find a way to watch the last few laps, it is worth it.

At the start of the race, it looked exactly like this, with Fisher as the white person on the couch about to get reamed.

DJIA - a real example of half

On August 1, 2021 the DJIA closed at 34,690. It did not close higher than that on the first of any month until December 1, 2023 when the close was 35,900. That is 29 consecutive months of a flat market, well over half (in rifle speak) of Biden’s term in office.

If rifle thinks Trump sucked for the market with an 18 month flat spot and a 57% 4 year return, how does he feel about Biden/Harris with a 29 month flat spot and a 20% return?

Who is the actual President right now? (asking for a country)

democrats/media flirted with the truth about Joe’s obvious cognitive decline only to go back to just blaming age - made more ludicrous by the fact Kamala is “accidentally” referring to herself at the president now. Effing clown show.
I’m asking the two dems on this board seemingly capable of logical thought, @Raoul Duke MU & @HerdandHokies - who do y’all actually consider to be the acting President at the moment. Is it even one of these two?
