Our athletic department, and athletic director, have really dropped the ball when it comes to our so call "sports network". Hell, go back to the 90s and early 2000s and we had 20 to 30 affiliates around the state; now about a third of that. And, for some reason, our sorry ass IMG "partners" have managed to put more and more of our broadcasts on low power AM stations that are virtually impossible to hear at night. For some damn reason, Hamrick and IMG won't let the games be streamed live over the internet; a big ass mistake. Hell, WVU streams coaches shows, games, even Olympic sports games, e.g. baseball, over the internet. Result, their programs are available, even to the most casual fan, and thus are making the program visable/audible across the state and beyond. That's HOW YOU BUILD A FANBASE, HAMMY!!! I feel sorry for you Charleston listeners; here in Mercer County the HERD is available only on an affiliate that is primarily a religious broadcast station. If MU has an afternoon game and someone has paid for a religious broadcast at the same time, well, the HERD game is NOT ON!! Same goes for HS sports, if MU plays at same time a HS game is scheduled, or if Coaches show is on the same time as a HS game is scheduled for broadcast, the MU programming gets bumped. Really sucks, and I don't see anyone in the athletic dept. doing anything about it!
