A few things we need to own...

No. We all think you are a troll because you have no relationship with Marshall University, yet continue to proclaim otherwise, in spite of being exposed and owned by multiple posters.

This is an opinion board. FOR HERD FANS ONLY. You are simply not a fan of the Herd. You are just some hilljack that want to peddle your Spamtardishness. No one cares what you think. MU fans and a few civil fans of other teams we actually play are having adult converstations above your level of ability.

And when did I ever say that MU and USPAM sports were equal. In football, the line between "major" or "power 5", "mid-major" or "group of 5" and "FCS" or "I-AA" or whatever were not that formal in the past, but it is safe to say that USPAM left what became I-AA in 1968. While in what became I-AA it acomplished NOTHING. It was a mid-major (Quote: Ollie Luck: "The Big East was not major college football" ) until becoming a field filler in the Big 2, Little 8 a few years ago. While in the mid-major eastern independents/"Big" East v.1/"Big" East v.2 AKA Leastleftovers, it parlayed a league it should have won every year into a record of failures and embarassments that is unequaled. It parlayed thel lightest schedule in the sport into an assreaming by Notre Dame. Once. Thirty years ago. As a grossly over its head Little 8 member, it has acomplished NOTHING. And, further, it NEVER WILL acomplish anything. On the other hand, WE dominated I-AA until moving up to the lower mid-major MAC, dominated that, and then moved up to CUSA v.2. Bad AD and bad coach set us back and got us stuck in CUSA v.3, but ship is righted now and more domination is on the way. MU will never be a field filler in a "true major"conference, and will never have to be. Not to mention the greatest story of comeback from Ashes to Glory. Equal? WVU will never be our equal.

And you, sir, will never know the special thing it is to be one of the Herd. You do not go here, nor to USPAM, nor to any school. Why keep up the pretense? No one buys your act.

Go away.

You always leave out the three consecutive Top 10 finishes (and six overall), the three BCS bowl wins, the 43 wins over ranked opponents, and so on. Does WVU not get ANY credit for those, or do they not count simply because you choose to ignore those accomplishments?

Umm, OK. The broken and now gone system where the 5 true major conferences plus one mid major one got in what Spamite call "BCS Bowls" (USPAM actually almost made the one and only BCS Bowl once, until a wonderful night in November which was a nightmare for both the sons of New Jersey and Tiger Woods) and caught a few teams partying and phoning it in. Whoptedo. Still adds up to NOTHING.

ZERO national championship.

Zero.

ZERO.

You obviously don't know what a good basketball program looks like.
I know what is going on in terms of recruiting, and how the team drastically improved once Elmore was eligible to play. Overall, we are building a pretty good team for a mid-major and should be competing for conference titles the next few years.

I'll give the basketball team their due when we stop giving up 90 points to terrible teams. Coming down and chucking 3s and hoping the other team doesn't IS steetball and I saw that multiple times last year
Street ball is dribble, dribble, dribble, then drive and don't pass basketball. We play a fast-paced pass and shoot style of team game. Like I said, that is anything but street ball.

Ok, you guys are right. Giving up 85 points to Grand Canyon and losing most of our non conference games because we refuse to play defense is a great building block.

I'll just drop the subject, obviously I'm in the minority opinion that our Bball program is not up to par. Quite frankly I'm sick of the constant 'next year' talk. We are always 'going in the right direction'. Just like we were with Herrion until he crawled on the floor like a dog after acting like he got elbowed and embarrassed our entire program.

I'm ready for next year to be this year, one time ever! A berth to the dance, SOMETHING!

I think you missed the fact that our PG, his name is Elmore, had to sit out the first 8 games due to transfer rules. If he were eligible for those 8 games, we would like have won 5 or more of them and had a winning OOC record.

lol.. reading your posts so far you might be the biggest homer fan I've ever seen. Despite your silly statements, I like your spirit!

Sorry, I should clarify- intramural ball is more this style. Chuck 3s and don't play D. You're right there's a difference, however it still sucks

There is nothing silly about my statements, dumbass, I actually provided facts, and based Elmore's impact on the team, we would have won 2-3 of the first 6 games we lost last season.

You obviously know nothing about basketball. We play a pass and shoot team game that is nothing like intramural ball or street ball, by the way, intramural ball is street ball. Our defense was lacking last season due to a lack of depth in the frontcourt, as a result, our guys could not play tight defense like they were capable of due to the worry that key players would get in foul trouble, and it resulted in olay defense sometimes to keep guys like Kelly and Taylor on the court because there was a huge drop-off behind them on the bench.

I wasn't trying to be a smartass. I define a good program as one able to pretty consistantly make the NCAA tournament. I am spoiled by programs local to me, and with UofL now in the ACC I can see all kinds of powerhouses within a very short drive.
