ESPN Schlabach has us in the Bahamas Bowl vs WMU

What a nightmare that would be. Every single year since I've graduated, I haven't been able to afford the last-minute travel costs of attending a bowl game. Bahamas Bowl would guarantee to keep that streak alive.

Of course you cannot drive there, but airline flights out of CRW come up about the same price for Nassau as any other place. Hotels would be probably be less than Miami or Tampa. And I assume somebody would do a charter plane.

but how many of our fan base already have their passports? and what about all the alum in the miami/tampa areas that could easily drive to the game?

If we win the conference championship or finish second, I think we are headed to either the Miami Beach Bowl or the St. Pete Bowl. Playing Houston, Memphis or Temple in either game would be a great matchup for us.

Playing Colorado State in the HOD Bowl is better than playing another MAC school or a Sun Belt team.

Collegesportsmadness.com projects us to play Illinois in the HOD Bowl. I would take that matchup and another victory over a Big 10 school this year.

If we win the conference I am pretty certain that we will go to Miami to play whoever finishes third in the AAC (Temple, Cincy, Houston, Memphis).

If we beat WKU but lose in the CUSA championship Miami would still be possible (If La. Tech chose Dallas again) but so would St. Pete.

If we lose to WKU then its whatever we can get... Bahamas, St. Pete, wherever.

Bowl committees aren't stupid, they offer games to teams who put asses in seats. A bowl in Florida will look to Marshall based on our strong ties there, both by players and alumni base. I see no chance we go to a bowl outside of that state

Only way, and only only way we go to HOD would be for all the stars to line up, and they place WVU against us. Even then it's a long shot.

That would be fun to watch but that would just be crazy for bowl committee to place 2 wv teams in a bowl together in texas. could make the flights coming back home interesting though either way the game turned out haha

Yeah haha what I meant by even that game would be a long shot.. But boy would the whole state be watching that game!

I've said it before, but I'm firmly of the opinion that if there were a WVU-Marshall HOD Bowl proposed, WVU would lobby the Big 12 as hard as possible to not let that game happen. If it were that option or no bowl, I think WVU would lean strongly towards no bowl game.

JMO, but the only way we go to Dallas is if it's the ONLY bowl opportunity we have, and I doubt that will be the case.

WVU would play the game, I think. It's a guaranteed payout. If they choose not to go to a bowl the Conference loses out on those funds and would piss off the others in the league. Remember cash is king baby. Would I like to see WVU and MU play in a bowl? Sure that would be fun especially if we could beat their asses on national television. However, I am a realist and don't think it would happen but it would be fun to see.

It's fun to try and predict which bowl game we'll go to, but for right now, I'm just trying to get to the WKU game.. ;)

That's just crazy talk. No way any coach or school going to give up 15 extra practices to skip playing ANY opponent or at any bowl destination.
