I don't live under a rock and I'm also not an expert and don't read a ton of politics because I work 50-60 hours some weeks and care for my toddlers at home in free time.
I still find it hard to believe Trump is not an overall success by objective measures when it comes to growing his business.
That initial loan came years ago and when adjusted for inflation amounts to about 8 million today.

His dad's business would probably not have survived if not for government programs.
Furthermore, he took over his dad's business. So he's not quite the self made man he would have everyone to believe.

I guess Steve Jobs and the guys at Apple were bad because they were nearly under and out of money. They were on their way to bankruptcy when old friend/competitor Bill Gates helped bail them out(because he didn't want to be a "monopoly" and have the feds go after Microsoft).
