NC is a liberal haven now. Doesn't surprise me. Raleigh and Charlotte are liberals. I live in a blue county. Not even that close anymore. We only have one state house rep left in Wake County that is Republican. I believe that all the county comissioners are all now Democrats. Only going to get worse. the Triangle area is now a mix of blue state lib and now a heavy left coast lib along with Indians who are lib. We have neighborhoods that look like New Delhi. All the tech jobs and such are make it high lib area.
Can't wait to get out of here one day. NC is being ruined. The only good thing is the state legislature is still red.

Back to the poll, it is over for DeSantis. If I were him I would not run. Either let Trump win or not. He can't beat Trump. He will get trounced in the primary. The only chance would be if every other Republican dropped out and it was perhaps a two man race. But, basically it is over for DeSantis.
sad to see what has happened to Charlotte. I lived there from 1985 -1993. It was pretty conservative then with several Reagan democrats to offset the flaming liberals.
DeSantis is doing 4 points better than Trump in Iowa and 5 better in North Carolina. How is it over for Ron Desantis?
I hate to keep saying this, but the Republicans aren't going to win in 2024.
Two reasons:
1. The math simply doesn't work out in their favor. Elections come down to a handful of states, and you all know which ones. Right now, those five or six states favor the Democrats.
2. This is the bigger reason. People are stupid, and there's a lot more stupid people than there are Republicans.

Desantis is the only hope Republicans have in 2024. Trump can’t win.
I have watch webinars and documentaries. Your poll shows DeSantis vs Biden. But, even then here is the problem for DeSantis. Everyone needs to understand how the Republicans pick and how the Democrats pick.
The way the Republicans pick is his problem. In a three way race or more it is divided enough that Trump wins the nomination, no matter how you slice it or dice at this point. It is not a Trump vs DeSantis race. Theare are others in the race Republicans give their nomination(delegates) to a winner take all. Trump needs about 34% of the vote, give or take depending on how many in the race. The more people, the better for Trump.
So, that is how Trump cleary beats DeSantis. Guys, it is not even close at this point.
Compare that to the Democrats. They have super Delegates who can basically override their vote/system. If not for that Bernie Sanders would have been their nominee(at least once). That is what saved Biden and will carry him to the Democrat nomination again. Bernie will probably run. But, the Super Delegates in their party will have none of that and give it to Biden.
So, DeSantis can't beat Trump in a three way race or more than three. His only hope would be a two man race between he and Trump.
I am just giving you all the way it works and how it is playing out.
Unless Mush dies or can't even get out of bed(maybe not even then) or the same thing for Trump. It is all but assured you all better get ready for Mush Biden vs Trump Part II. It is nearly assured at this point and time.
Republicans can only ever win the Presidency again if they totally trounce the Democrat by so much that it can't be questioned. Like winning 35 states or more. Winning some of those by double digits.
The Presidency for the Republicans died the day Dems figured out how to manipulate the system during Covid with early voting, extensions, ballot harvesting, and stopping the count at night.

IT is over for Republicans in the national race for Presidency. It can only be changed at the local level.
I am concerened that it is over for them in terms of the Presidency for a long time to come. Maybe forever.
Not sure why anyone thinks DeSantis or anyone else can suddenly come in a win nationally under the circumstances. They are not giving up the way they manipulated the system. Ever, without a fight.
That is why I know of some former military guys, elite high level types, other agency type people, etc. that are doing just that and getting dual citizenship to other countries. Go lay low somewhere that the Chinese nor American govt has doesnt have a lot of care about or access to. Why? Protection and live off the grid so to speak. Live their life and prepare to come back here to fight if necessary.
No, not a joke. Many analyze that the country is either too far gone, will be gone more, and the USA is slipping into a 2nd place situation behind the Chinese. But, the American govt will and has started targeting political enemies.

But, it is not about Biden. IT is about the machine. He was a terrible candidate the first time. He can barely talk and do the job.
It is about controlling big metro areas in a key few states. The votes are going do divide down the way they do regardless. Why does anyone think DeSantis is magically going win Philadelphia, Milwaukee? Detroit or even Atlanta? They will do the same thing to him.
You're dreaming for time that is long gone. There are never "decent" republican candidates. If Romney had no chance, neither will anyone else. This country voted in a vegetable who was locked in a basement.

You act like there are not conservative Republicans who just cannot stomach Trump. You’re losing those votes for POTUS and down the ballot when they stay home.
And on the other side, there those on the far left who do not like voting for Biden and might consider wasting a vote on a third party or (more likely) staying home, but view Trump as an existential threat to democracy and would strategically vote against him.
DeSantis is just a well disguised RINO that is being backed by the Bush political machine to oppose Trump. He’s a very good governor, but he will not push for the reforms we need, he will just be a 3rd Bush President in the pocket of the same special interest that get him elected.

I’m struggling mightily to think of a country that is to the right of the US that anyone would want to live in.
This got me thinking of places I'd want to live if I weren't in the US. These countries aren't to the right of the US, but just a list of general places. Honestly, Switzerland, Singapore and Costa Rica are the only countries I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe Portugal, Thailand, Malaysia, or Columbia.

The main reason is they see the US falling to #2, behind China and the way of life here changing. You have to think like some of these dudes think. They damn near, some of them, have a back up plan for everything. Like to the point of when they go out in public they quickly scan evacuation routes and shit like that. Dual citenship to some of these places puts them in a place that is typically on the down low.
They are preparing if the US becomes #2 that our way of life is going to change here and that gives them freedom of movement. If the USA becomes #2 which is growing each day and year then the USA passport won't be as valuable or sought after, same as our currency.
You also have to think of ways the attack on Taiwan and possibly the USA. The most likely attack on Taiwan or a real scenario is an EMP attack on Taiwan. They will try to do it without that but, if it is an attack they are likely to EMP attack Taiwan. Boom, knock their comms and ability to move out. Then, attack.
China is going to move on Taiwan within 10 years but, the odds are growing to about half that time. By bullets or otherwise.
Did anyone pay attention to the French PM's coments today? He basically said France and Europe should stay out of conflict between Taiwan?USA and China. He basically hung us our to dry and is saying China has that much influence over Europe now. He basically said take it, we don't care.
