I'm going to use Extra's logic here - if everything that happened with Burisma, Ukraine, and Hunter was on the up-and-up why doesn't he just come in and clear everything up and prove they did nothing wrong???

To be fair, I wouldn't either if I were him. Be interesting to see the transcripts or listen to recorded calls between 'ol Crazy Uncle Joe and Ukrainian politicians.

No, you're not.

If it was a trial of Joe Biden, I agree. But that's just not the case here. And that's the reason you're not using the logic of Extra.

So because Trump is the accused (who has MORE rights in a legal proceeding under the Constitution - including the right against self-incrimination) he should come forward and testify, but because Biden is a witness, who can be compelled, that is made, to testify (so long as they haven't committed a criminal act - see above), he shouldn't? That's your argument? Sounds about right.

And "self incrimination" is the very reason the liar in chief won't testify nor allow those around him to do so.

but because Biden is a witness, who can be compelled, that is made, to testify (so long as they haven't committed a criminal act - see above), he shouldn't? That's your argument? Sounds about right.

The reason Biden shouldn't is because he has nothing to do with the impeachment trial in the Senate. That's why.

It seems, since Trump wasn't able to get an announcement of a Biden investigation, then any kind of smear will do.

Trump's actions/behavior got his ass impeached....

Biden played didn't participate in Trump's bribery scheme.

Well then, investigate Biden. Might want to be careful how you go about it.
Absolutely. The person who has an entire Justice Dept at his disposal can't get them to investigate.. perhaps there's not enough evidence.

But, again, Trump wasn't interested in an actual investigation - just the announcement of one. Also something the Justice Dept isn't, apparently, interested in doing.

Sure thing, chief. Keep thinking that.

No problem pard....and please keep us aprised when ANY Justice Dept, prosecutor or even political body finds evidence of a crime by the Bidens. Then, perhaps, President 14K can finally get his announcement.

His first sentence is absolutely true.

What is also true is there are, offhand, four Senate committees that could open an investigation into Biden and call him to testify there. I wonder why they haven't....

So because Trump is the accused (who has MORE rights in a legal proceeding under the Constitution - including the right against self-incrimination)

The Founders never meant for impeachment to be a criminal or civil trial. They never meant for the same rules to apply. So in theory, sure call Biden to testify even though he has no relevant information to add to the proceedings. But if the Executive branch can wholesale ignore Congressional subpoenas, so can he. He can claim executive privilege and national security just the same, as he was VPOTUS at the time.

Bottom line: Republican Senators who kiss Trump's ass (which is all but three of them as far as I can tell) want to make this a shit-show.

The Dems did that when they started this boondoggle. Can't really blame the Repubs for wanting to throw some mud with them.

About all the liar in Chief has done is throw mud. Multiple hours per week on Twitter calling people names and lying. Cozying up to Putin, spewing conspiracy theories, blaming Ukraine for meddling in the election while the entire national security tells him Russia did it and is still doing it. Witch Hunt, hoax, coup.

Trump does enough mud-slinging for all of them. And he seems to take zero political fallout for it. Let him do the bullshitting.

How hard is it to conduct a dignified, legit trial in the Senate, and then vote the way you want to vote regardless of evidence? Keep up appearances at least. Trump won't take a hit for it, but some of these Senators very well could.

Greed u and Trump both are exactly alike

He is your brother and the supreme leader of pullman.Herdman jerkoff I mean Herdman Zarcov will throw u in Pullman jail for badmouthing Pullman's supreme leader mister
