Are you talking about HF? They absolutely have a pay board.
.
Yes, the mission of their "pay board" is entirely different than the one here. Their pay board isn't even linked or advertised on the page listing of their forums.
I've made it a point to get HN buzzing again so that's not a fair statement.
It is a fair statement. The discussion was about how the overall activity on all of HN has drastically dropped. My assertion is that much of that has to do with the change in moderation. The fact that you admit that you have to get HN buzzing again is proof that the overall activity has dropped significantly.
Your counting of active posts on both boards today is inaccurate. Why didn't you count over the last two days? Over the last week? Over the last month? Further, two of the five active threads on here today (and most of the activity for a week) are about the moderators. So, you want to stop those discussions, yet you will count them in as active threads compared with HF?
I didn't really read all that but my guess is it doesn't change the fact that HN is the most popular Marshall related sports site in existence. From where I stand the most active is a good thing.
Lets put that in context:
Assume HN used to have 90% of the Herd fan marketplace. Now, assume it has just 40%. It could still be the most popular Marshall site, but it is a clear indication that things aren't being done correctly or else you wouldn't be losing so much of the market.
If the helmsman keeps patting himself on the back while the ship is taking on water, he won't be able to use both hands on the ship's wheel to try and right the ship.
If nothing else, watching rifle try and juggle two handles while pushing his agenda is entertaining.
It was far more entertaining reading the reactions of posters after your hypocrisy was exposed with screenshots from private messages . . . shutting down the smack board due to personal information being discretely posted . . . yet private messaging personal information about Herd fans and urging the use of it to chase posters off of the board.
It's the same hypocrisy of another moderator pinning a warning and suspending an account for posting personal information, then turning around and posting personal information a week later (while also lying in a comically bad attempt to justify it).
