If you have white vinegar, vegetable oil, and a mop, you can achieve this fairly simple. Just mix equal portions of the vinegar and oil, and place it in a spray bottle. Try it out on a small section, and mop it out, and see what you think. It's the old fashioned way of doing it, as well as avoiding chemicals.
substitute the vinegar with skunk piss. much better finish.
These wood floors are awesome. The original owner had it build with wood floors but ended up laying carpet over the whole house except the kitchen. She just changed her mind. My in-laws never bought carpet since 73. We lived her 6 yrs before we did anything. Carpet can be nasty. Love to have a huge green rug for the living room with a big white M.
Honestly, the plague was unintended. lol
As for the floor finish, I have no personal experience in finishing floors, but there are some good products out there. Are you wanting to apply something over the existing finish, or are you going to sand the floors first? Either way, talk to a floor specialist about which is the better product.
