Got to like the citizens’ persistency. Hopefully this doesn’t end with a Kent State type military action.

China is itching to put an end to the "two systems" concept.
Keep in mind, a half million people left Hong Kong in the years preceding the Brits handing HK over to China. A lot of those were very wealthy non-Chinese that would have been a counter-balance to Chinese power/pressure.
