It's no wonder they're all gunning for Trump. Calling him the worst, telling us we need to nominate someone more electable like McCain and Romney were.

Yep, they want the GOP to run another Tresselball candidate. Some soft talking nice guy who will just sit on the whole thing, go to church, and preach values of wonder while LSU and Florida blow the doors off in the national championships.

Tresselball wins when you have the superior team going in. When all you have to do is play it safe and smart and you win. It would work well for the Democrats. Not for the Republicans. The GOP is at a real disadvantage going into this. As an underdog, you need to attack. You've got to take some chances, sell out on some blitzes, send the house, throw some bombs.

Trump can attack, sure, but it's all meaningless insults. Rubio's ears are big and he sweats allot. Cruz lied about Carson. Carly is ugly. Jeb is boring. What's he gonna do against Hillary besides call her an ugly fat ass whose husband won't touch her? He can't debate policy, he talks in circles and when challenged he lashes out with stupid insults. He does that one time against Hillary and the debate is over. She'll say "Is this what you want in a President? Is this who you want talking to Putin"? He'll make such a fool of himself he'll make Hillary look like a reasonable person. Plus, they'll double down on the whole racist/sexist crap they love to lay on the GOP. If they can turn "binders full of women" into a sexist, women hating slogan imagine what they will do with Trump's soundbites.

What's he gonna do against Hillary besides call her an ugly fat ass whose husband won't touch her?

Yeah, because she was much too great of a Secretary of State to go after that. And I'm sure that he's in cahoots with the Obama administration so he'll definitely let her off the hook on those e-mails.

She's got nothing to exploit. Strongest candidate ever. Yep, all there is to talk about is how she's an ugly fat ass whose husband won't touch her.

I didn't say she wasn't vulnerable. If Trump actually prepares for a debate he has all kinds of ammo to use. He hasn't done that yet so why assume he'd do it to Hillary? The closest thing he's done to challenge another candidates record was call Kasich lucky because he sprung oil, saying without that Kasich couldn't stand on job creation and balanced budget.

The people he's going up against now don't have the kind of stuff Hillary does to attack. His main attack on them is they're weak wimpy cavers who are for some good things, but won't really stand up for them.

That's a good point. I'm just not sold on Trump's debating skill. He needs to beef up on real world events, and he hasn't yet. Attacking Hillary is only half the battle, he has to be able to challenge her policies and logically explain why his are better. He hasn't done that yet. "We're gonna win so much", "China is killing us" and "My hands are beautiful" aren't policy arguments. He sucks at that and talks in circles too much.

He peppers in the standard GOP policy talk. Lower taxes, lower spending, strong defense, etc. It's smart to gloss over that on the national stage since you've got to somehow sway some people who are apt to feel sorry for the bums and idiots.

Do you feel Trump is capable of having a serious debate, and is he able to logically shut down Hillary?

He had a serious debate already. It wasn't too entertaining, but he had it. Nobody's going to shut anybody down, but he's the only one capable of giving Hillary a run for her money on that debate stage and in the campaign.

I just don't see it. I've watched all but one debate and Trump hasn't made a legitimate argument yet.

Hillary sucks on the campaign trail. She has the best prep team anyone could assemble and they give her all the right answers, but when she's pressed or there's a question she wasn't prepped for she falls apart. That's when you see her get angry and she throws that pointer finger out there. She's vulnerable as fvck.

Anyone could turn her into ruble if they had a cool mind and policy plans to back it up. Trump has neither. And he, along with Republicans, will get embarrassed if the two face off.

So you would rather go with the McCain and Romney idea of being apologetic, weak, taking the high road, etc.?

They lost to a novelty act. Look at the guy in the White House today. Weak and pitiful puppet. Still, he beat wimpy asses like McCain and Romney. Talk about embarrassing. They could have beat the hell out of Obama, but they were afraid to be called racists. They should be ashamed of themselves for being chicken shit losers.

Romney wasn't weak, he was overlooked. He was on point about damn near everything, the economy, Russian advancement, Chinese hacking...he was damn near prophetic in what he warned about.

It's dumbass voters who put us here. They'd rather have an entertainer than a leader. I read an article in '08 that said young voters voted for Obama because they were ask who would they rather have a beer with, Obama or McCain. Fvckin retards. That's where our elections are right now. Who's the coolest, who's the youngest, who will give us shit... No one cares about qualifications and leadership abilities anymore.

Romney sat on the ball. Had the lead late, played it safe and it burned him in the ass. Didn't play to win. Played not to lose. Lost.

McCain was so scared of being called a racist that he denounced his own people for even saying anything bad about Obama. So he just stood there and let Obama run unopposed really.

If the people are too stupid, then what does that say about someone wanting to lead said idiots? The onus is on this candidate to rally the people, no matter what their intelligence level. If they're smart enough to go vote, they're smart enough to count. This isn't an Ivy League caviar social here.

Rallying the people who are barely smart enough to go vote is what gave us the last eight years. You want more of that?

If Donald Trump secures the Republican presidential nomination, he would start the general election campaign as the least-popular candidate to represent either party in modern times. Three-quarters of women view him unfavorably. So do nearly two-thirds of independents, 80 percent of young adults, 85 percent of Hispanics and nearly half of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents. Those findings, tallied from Washington Post-ABC News polling, fuel Trump’s overall 67 percent unfavorable rating — making Trump more disliked than any major-party nominee in the 32 years the survey has been tracking candidates.

Don't underestimate Trump. He is doing what he has to do to win the GOP nomination. You have to win that first.

Most people thought Trump would have been done 3 months ago.

Why would he go conventional and stand there are recite boring shi*. Trump attacks his opponents. Sitting there going boring on policy debates to the Nth degree would fall right into Hillary's hands. She doesn't want to be attacked on her weak points. She would love to sit there and debate about macroecomics for 2 hours instead of her being a lying bitch and a horrible SEC OF State.

That's why we need someone who can do both. Trump isn't that guy. He talks about immigration, he talks about taxes, he talks about wages, he talks about whatever the topic of the day is...but he doesn't give a solution. Never. When has Trump voiced an actual plan of action?

And his method of campaigning has made him the least popular major party candidate.....by far.

3/4ths of the posters on this board can stand at a podium and point out Hillary's fvck ups. It's a ten minute google search made into bullet points on a word document. Maybe a phone call to Judicial Watch for some extra juicy shit. Does that make us Presidential candidates?

Call me crazy but I want someone who has a long term plan for our budget, security, tax reform, military, R&D, and global mother fvcking dominance. But I guess those things take second place to a high school popularity contest.

hillary's weakness with independent voters is there for the taking by the republicans, yet they're going to nominate someone who is viewed as even less favorable than hillary by the independents. brilliant!

herdman and others like to bust on mitt, but he's the exact type of candidate that would stand a solid chance of defeating hillary, not someone that is huge within the extreme of "his own party" and really not liked by those in the middle or on the other side at all.

Trump is so unpopular that he's kicked all these other GOP candidates' asses so far in the primaries and dominates the conversation.

The TV is full of shit. I'm tired of hearing about it really. If Trump was that bad, he would have lost every election so far 50-0. The TV just wants me to think it's just me and five other rednecks voting for him. They wish.

Look at the scoreboard, idiots. Meanwhile, it's looking like a nice weekend to either head for the hills or for that big open field in Wyandot County with nobody around for 10 miles.

Its hilarious watching and listening to Libs tell Repubs who they need to run for president in order to beat them. HILARIOUS.

Kasich has barely a pulse but somehow "can beat Hillary"????? Romney wouldn't swat a fly, but "can beat Hillary"????

Just like they did in '08 and '12.

Meanwhile, we've got people in our party wanting to use the same damn game plan again. They either haven't learned or they're all right with losing.

I think the bigtime establishment people on TV really want to lose. They're OK with Congressional seats and having a Democrat president to blame for not being able to do anything.

I agree with all of this.

I agree with you but trump is not that guy. He will get destroyed in general

Yeah, just like now. Nobody's voting for him. He's losing all the elections. Dead last. I don't know how he even got 1 vote. All everybody talks about is how terrible he is.

People who voted for him and support him have no media credentials so they obviously don't count.

Who do you want anyway, Rubio on the white horse in Cleveland? Ryan? Romney? Come on, don't be ashamed. Belt it out. Obviously he can't be worse than Trump the Terrible.

Evidently Walden is under the impression that whoever wins the GOP nomination becomes president by default, and simply bypasses the general election.

I was a Rubio supporter but you also have to look at the numbers. Sure he's getting 30-40%of the vote but that also means he's not getting 60-70% of the vote. If there weren't 86 candidates early on he wouldn't have the lead he does. Trump is just a New York liberal doing a caricature of what he thinks a Bible Belt conservative is. He has no policies to make America great. He's just a walking sound bite

So what do you suggest, Rubio on the white horse? Ryan? Romney? Gotta do something.

Why do you even give a damn? Go try to get Bernie elected and forget about the GOP. Bernie may be fixing to get robbed like Trump is.

I'm OK with either of the D candidates. I'm not ok with any of the R candidates, especially trumpenstein. If trumpenstein loses the primary you lose, if he wins the primary you lose. You complain about losers and then vote for the loudest loser available. Bwahaha!!

exactly. we have to give the morons a chance to weigh in.

Who's your candidate? I notice all the anti-Trump people in the GOP are too ashamed to admit who they want instead. I have to pry it out of them.

Shame is a big part of being a liberal, you know. Shouldn't be ashamed of your candidate.

Walden I don't know who should get the nomination I do know that if the GOP wants to win the white house trump isn't the guy. This is the most winnable election for GOP in a loooooong time and they will squander that opportunity with a New York liberal named Donald trump

All right, I'll pick for you. The white horse for Rubio.

The worst candidate of all, I believe. Kasich would be better. Even Ryan or Romney. Rubio is the worst. The only thing he has ever done is shake hands with Schumer on amnesty. That's it. Least accomplished of all candidates. His one accomplishment sucks.

That's such a lazy response. Trump has donated to the CLINTONS schemer Reid etc. he's much more in the tank with dems than Rubio

They were for sale and he was a buyer. What do I care about that? Rubio is a little kid who wasted his money on sailboats.

I hope when the GOP rigs it, they rig it for Kasich, Ryan or Romney. Anybody but Rubio. Hell, bring Bob Dole back if you want to. As long as it's not Rubio.

Trump deals with dems way more than rubios FAILED bill but trumps a better conservative?
