Looks like terrorist took down another plane

No, I didn't take it literately. But, he made his point.

Now you have bashed the military again.

I believe it was retired Gen Thomas McInerney who made the comment. Here is his bio. And, you called think he might be stupid. You are such an ass bag, really. What do you have a high school education?

Thomas G. McInerney (born March 15, 1937)[1] is a retired, highly decorated United States Air Force Lieutenant General, who served in top military positions and reported directly to the Secretary of Defense and to the Vice President of the United States.

General McInerney is a command pilot with more than 4,100 flying hours, including 407 combat missions (243 in O-1s as a forward air controller and 164 in F-4Cs, Ds and Es) during the Vietnam War. In addition to his Vietnam Service, McInerney served overseas in NATO; Pacific Air Forces and as commander of 11th Air Force in Alaska

McInerney was born March 15, 1937, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, and graduated from Garden City (N.Y.) High School in 1955. He earned a bachelor of science degree from the United States Military Academy in 1959 and a master's degree in international relations from George Washington University in 1972. McInerney graduated from the Armed Forces Staff College in 1970 and from the National War College in 1973.

Sure you took it literally, and I've already explained how I know this.

I'll bash the military any time I feel that it's appropriate.

Generals SHOULD be smart enough not to use hyperbole when conservatives are around, since they take it literally.

You lose all credibility when you say you don't let anyone get by with making stuff up and then bypass this little gem: "I heard today that ISIS has a command center set up that is about half the size of the Pentagon. And, yet it is still there for some damn reason."

They pretty much have a city center to themselves. What is there to dispute about that besides semantics?

The pentagon is about 35 acres. Half of that is 17.5 acres. The average city block is about 3-4 acres. So if Isis has a command center that is 4-5 city blocks then tjey very well would have a command center half the size of the pentagon. It's not that hard to fathom

You are way out there somewhere. ISIS does control the city or at least a large portion of it. The General was making a point. You just like to argue about every damn thing even the way someone words something.

You know as well as I do that herdman wasn't talking about an area of control. He was talking about a building, since he wanted to know why it was still there.

Semantics. I didn't take it literally because I knew what he was referring to.

And herdman knows why we don't bomb it...we would take out a lot of civilians.

Yeah, he didn't mean it was a building, but presented a picture of one to back up his statement. Got it. And herdman seems to have little consideration for iraqi civilians. If I remember correctly, he supports carpet bombing.

And you support drone strikes

I posted a picture of the city block. that ISIS controls. Use some common sense.

If that is what it takes. I don't think it would take that in this case.

No, you showed an Isis hq and thought it was half the size of the Pentagon. If you or your precious general were talking about areas under the control of Isis, you could have shown an iraqi map with shaded areas for that. Youre statement was silly and it was exposed.

You have no idea said building(s) are. They very well could have a command center half size of pentagon. That doesn't mean it has to be one building. It could be multiple buildings that when taken in total equal that size.

Well I can't go by anything but what the picture shows now can I? But if you're going to go that route, then the multiple command center buildings occupied by the U S military is hundreds if not thousands as big as isis. So, no.

Dude, anybody with half a brain and/or who is not a ass hole knew what that meant.

There was nothing to expose and we can start measuring size of the buildings if you want.

Dude, anyone with half a brain wouldn't have made the stupid remark nor regurgitate it like you did. If we start measuring buildings, you look even worse.

The point is they have a command center and they control a town. Helllloooo

See how much more sense that makes without the stupidity added.

Greed if I say it is hotter than a firecracker or he runs like a scalded dog does that mean it is really that hot or someone runs like a scalded dog exactly?

And bombing that wouldn't have to take out a bunch of civilians. We can bomb any room in any building we want, just need a SEAL with a laser guide.

I imagine everyone here realizes that Isis has command centers. It was the SIZE of that HUGE half the size of the Pentagon command center that freaked you out. MORON.

Seriously, c'mon. The General was making a point. Look here at this command center and we are not taking it out. We could take it out easily and we are not. Right there.

You are arguing over semantics not the point of they have a command center right there in broad daylight.

So now you want to get serious? Ok. Then here's a question for you...do you think the general knows best about fighting terrorists and which target to take out better than the rest of the military? Is he the only one that knows about it? If you're answer is yes, then why isn't he in charge? If no, then he should just shut up and let the guys who know what's going on take care of business.

Did you read his bio? Plus, the Generals just can't take out the targets. You do realize that don't you? They can make battle plans of that level and offer scenarios/advice but they have to get permission to do so.

The point he was making is why haven't we taken this target and their command control out?

Well for one he is retired. Two, as I explained taking out that kind of target would have to have the ok of that one man, POTUS. The military alone can't make that call. So, I would imagine his consensus is the same as many in the Pentagon but the commander in chief won't make the call to do it. The military could wipe it out rather easily. But, they can't if they have been told not to. You do realize the military can't act alone on something like that, don't you?

That's right. Regardless of the fact that Obama made the call to kill bin laden unilaterally in pakistan and that the obama admin has killed more terrorists than your "war president", you hold on to your belief that he is soft. Your problem is you don't think, you do nothing but react. Your solution is always violence, war, carpet bomb, nukem, and boots on the ground. You have not once considered there may be a good reason for not bombing the "half the size of the pentagon" isis command center. Maybe isis is holding 200 women and children there as a shield. Maybe the military people who aren't retired are waiting on a particular person of interest to show up there before they take it out. Maybe we can eavesdrop every decision made in their "pentagon". But you go ahead and keep listening to the loudest mouth out there. They're always right.

Ugggh we are talking about taking out command and control.

Do you realize this country has been fighting these clowns(terrorist in that region) through the terms of two sitting US Presidents?

We have been fighting them longer than we have fought Nazi Germany and Imprerial Japan.

And, we can't take out and ISIS command and control center? We sit there while they grab vast amounts of land, set up a govt, and have an economic cash flow coming in?

That is all I am saying. As for Obama, whatever he is doing isn't working. Most people know that.

And do you realize that through those 4 terms of 2 presidents that NOTHING has worked? I told you years ago that the only way to win this battle is to get the neighboring countries intensely involved or we just need to get out and dump it in THEIR laps. You're either fer us or agin us is not a good strategy. Invading iraq was insane. Here we are. 13 years later. What worthwhile thing have we accomplished?

We have zero on the ground intelligence on that place, I guarantee that. Their leadership rarely appears in public. We would have to blast it heavy to maximize the effectiveness, take out the entire block.

So you are questioning a 3 star general, west point grad, who reported directly to the Sec of Defense, and VP but you know what it takes? Thanks. A few posts ago you were questioning him but now you know what it takes.

Guess what that coalition isn't coming together.

You bet I'm questioning a 3 star general. He has a hammer, all he sees is nails. 15 years in the middle east and nothing accomplished. Why would I question that? Better yet, why do you not question it?

He was saying what we are doing now is not working. Damn that's the point.

Are you that dense or out of touch. He is saying you need to take out their command and control. But the military is being stopped from doing it.

No, you idiot, he's saying let's do more of the same. Are you so dense that you think isis command centers have not been destroyed. You're not in the military anymore, so you don't have to agree with them, you do know that , right?
