Gunter is coming back after a 1 year stint at Va Tech.

Smith served as the interim head coach at Jax State for their bowl game with Ohio U yesterday.

From what I've heard from a buddy of mine who is a Jacksonville State alum. Rob Smith is the real deal, and boosters lobbied hard for him to be named their new HC.

Apparently the SD QB decided to return, so Cole is back in the portal as of 12/27.

Correct and here is a link. Cole was not going to be starting with the SD QB returning. He doesn't have the skill set for the new Marshall offense so he needs to keep looking for another school.

The team's quarterback was expected to leave Vermillion but announced Thursday that he plans to play for USD next season.
