down 41-14 to BUGS, lost 49-14 to WMU, lost 41-17 to Buffalo...

their seasons are written in stone before they even begin.........................

Must be their soft OOC and tough SOS, but their body of work includes enough quality losses that keeps them on the Committee's radar ahead of us

It's their lack of depth that kills them every year. We always catch them early in the season, when they're relatively healthy. By November it's basically a different team out there getting destroyed by MAC foes.

So what you're saying is bettheherd is OU fields better 11's across the board than us every year? And here I thought we had this great dynamic recruiter who plucks talent from Florida like their oranges off a tree. All kidding aside they just have a higher want to win then we do. They get up for this game and we never match their intensity

The OU game is and the mindset they take is very similar to what DJ did for the WVU game. Solich and Co. put so much into our game that they go emotionally flat after that. It happens every year. Donnie put so much into our game with WVU that we sucked the next 2-3 games after that. jmo.

I think the composite of what people posted makes sense:
- Ohio seems to put a lot of emphasis on early games
- Ohio has had a lot of injuries
- Ohio seems to get emotional down after a big loss and doesn't recover
- Birdsong was obviously hurting and looked so close to Ok they went with him, only to find out close doesn't cut it.
- We did fine defensively against Ohio, considering we couldn't do much on offense.
- We've improved significantly despite Devon being mainly absent due to his injuries
- Ohio players seem to be looking over their shoulders, but that could just be due to injuries
- We are better than we played at Ohio, Ohio is worse than when they played us, by fairly large margins

Or it could be that someone besides Doc Holliday is able to get/convince a lot of football talent to leave Florida. Apparently, the BG coach, Babers, has a pretty good pipeline to the Sunshine State because from the announcers statements, a lot of their skilled players, receivers, running backs, etc., are from Florida. To the barren, flat plains of Northwest Ohio where Bowling Green resides; who'd thunk it?

Just know one thing from watching the BG-OU game: wish Bill Legg would adopt some of the creativity found in their offense. NO ONE has stopped, or barely slowed down, the Falcons offense this season. One other key note: announcers also pointed out that the BG O-line had something like a total of 150+ starts, which says volumes about Experience on the offensive line being a key to success!

Biggest difference there is Solich and OU win their Super Bowl. DJ never did. Just saying. Good call though, I agree with you.
