RB de-commit?

Remember when we were going to suck after Chad left because all we had was this recruit named Byron Leftwich that no one else wanted? Yeah, we'll be fine.

Remember when Byron left and we thought we were going to be in good hands with Stan Hill? Granted, he started out ok, but then got progressively worse.

Yeah, you can only catch lightning in a bottle a couple times before your luck runs out.

Greenhouse who wants our assistants? Give more to help them! Hell they are paid better than the faculty without which there would be no program!

One position that doesn't seem to develop well is the WR corps. I don't know if that is coaching that needed to be fixed or if we don't have the right talent for it. I really do not think its that last one but who knows.

Is this for real?

@CUSAbbs: 3 star RB Quinton Baker has flipped from Marshall to WKU after last week's game. https://t.co/2ueXqNufBO

Yep, even his own family and mentor are shocked by the flip as he was set to enroll for January. We do have some offers out to a few high level RBs that are still considering us so maybe we can land one of them as a replacement. FWIW, the King kid that flipped from WKU to us may be just as good as Baker based on his videos and on field performance.

I am not too worried about the star ratings on our recruits, most have solid offers from other good programs. Do miss the head in the clouds feelings though with all the high rated ones we have gotten before with Doc.

When Doc was first hired, I went to the signing day party. He said that he didn't put a lot of stock in recruiting star ratings. Said that the reason Notre Dame was so down (they were going about 5-5 every year at the time) was because they let rivals and Scout do all their recruiting for them. He was taught by a master in Nehlen, who could evaluate and develop under rated talent.

It was fun while it lasted but I think we are about to see the implosion of the Doc Holliday era

This is absolutely hilarious. We are one year removed from having one of the best team's in program history, we go 9-3 with a freshman QB, and have a ton of players returning next season.

*One RB decommits from us*

Yeah, Doc's the worst. F**k all the other things he's done. We'll probably start sucking again, very soon.

FYI, the reason why he committed is *probably* because we're already three deep and young at the running back position. He'd get more playing time at WKU.

Good luck with that. We looked like a pile of dog doo after 2 weeks of prep. We have lost 4 of 5 to WKU and Middl Tenn and what are we against Ohio.

Yeah we have lost 4 of 5 but 3 of 4 losses were on road and two overtime losses. In regulation, the average score of the 5 games is MU 40.4 and MT/WKU 40.0 so it isn't like we are being blown out in the games and the 3 close losses could easily have been wins. We are a dropped pick, a pass interference call on an illegal pick, and a made FG away from being 4-1 in those 5 games.

I'm curious if anyone was recruited last year based on our game vs NIU? I just wonder how much value there really is to this bowl location business?

The bowl game was more about getting our FL and GA recruits a game close to home so that their families could go than it was about recruiting.

Amen. WKU will be fine with 7 starters back on O. Their D will suffer but their O will likely continue to score points.

As to recruiting, Pruett got complacent his last two years on recruiting and it showed in 2004. Doc better get moving or he will be passed by WKU, MT and a rapidly improving USM program. Not impressed with the class currently, except for Mitchell.

Well, besides Mitchell, we have a 3-star QB and 3-star TE committed, we have a very strong OL class and an outstanding DB class so I would say we are doing fine in recruiting, we just don't have the 1-2 star/name recruits in the class at this point. Based on the guys we are still recruiting, we could close very strong this year if things bounce our way.

Laugh if you want.. But, my comment has little to do with one RB switching commitments and more to do with the fact that this is just one more thing that highlights the turmoil that is starting to build around the program. Not to mention the schedule steps up next year. It also has nothing to do with my opinion of Doc Holliday, he has been successful here without a doubt we'll just see how this comment turns out in the coming months.. I think there may be more going on behind the scenes than many of us know. I hope I'm wrong, I love the Herd and would like to see the success continue.

We were going to be fine with Stan Hill until he tore his ACL.

What on God's green earth are you going on about.......turmoil? He gets rid of problem children after giving them a shot to improve their lives which they blow, and all of a sudden there is turmoil, give us all a break. It sucks for them and us, but that's not going to prevent us from continuing to be a top conference team. I am glad doc sticks to his guns with these kids, otherwise there would be actual turmoil ala like it was with Snyder.
