Honestly, extragreen, are you for real or do you just like to argue?
Do you understand what Berghdal did was illegal and goes against everything a soldier believes and is taught?
Where do you come up with this shi*? Don't care about the soldiers? You realize some of have wore that uniform, have family that does, and friends that do?

Eg you can't force the public justice system into the military justice system. The military has a way of doing things that is foreign to people like you and me who have ever served. Walking off post no matter the reason is the worst thing you can do in war time. I have not made my feelings on bergdal the matter public. It's obvious you think he did nothing wrong unfortunately that's not the case with military justice system.
Yeah, I'm for real. I think you're an ingrate. You are unable to show any respect toward someone who voluntarily enlisted. Do you think Bergdahl joined up with the goal of doing what he's done, or do you think perhaps something may have snapped along the way? You really think he's a muslim sympathizer? At this point, I'm willing to leave it be until the trial takes place. Not you. He's guilty...shoot him....execute him....
I have never mentioned if what he did was wrong or not. I have attempted to make the point that the man just may have come unhinged. I'm not going to judge him like some of you when I don't know enough about what he went through. Military situations have ruined a lot of minds and lives, if they are lucky enough to survive.

As for the Coast Guard item. The Army nor the Coast Guard has said why he was separated from the Coast Guard. His friends/family have said that it was for psychological reasons.
The Coast Guard described the action as an “uncharacterized discharge,” which is typical for someone who leaves the service without completing basic training.

It's my understanding that it is an rare that the interviewing generals recommendation is overruled. So I'll just declare that the overruling is politically pressured.

I don't know why the Army took him. I don't think it has been disclosed why he left the Coast Guard. There appears to be speculation. Guys change services all the time. For some reason he didn't complete his Coast Guard training.
This is at four star General level. He is over US Army Forces Command. Looks to me like the Army either was dredging the bottom for recruits or just messed up by letting someone in that they shouldn't have.
Four star generals usually don't do a 180 on the interviewing generals recommendation.
