SHR: Texas State to Pac 12?

Article from ESPN, Texas State is a frontrunner for departure from the SBC. Nothing is set in stone but it makes for an interesting discussion as to who the SBC would take to replace them.
Crappy LA Tech is ahead of everyone, which would be funny since their AD (not sure if he's the current one) really thumbed his nose at the SBC when asked if they'd ever join...

Texas State looms as the favorite to join the Pac-12. Why could that happen? What would come next? And what about Memphis?

I'm not sure if I'd want LA Tech as they don't offer much, but their location does fit and it's been supported by many in the SBC, plus it's an easy West replacement, so they wouldn't have to re-draw the divisions.

Given all the chaos going on right now, not sure it wouldn’t be best to grab TX St’s exit fee, stand pat at 13 for a season or two and see what happens with these other potential G5 conference shuffles. You can do a round robin schedule in the meantime …

You'd want to be proactive and have a replacement ready.
Don't want to lose one team and suddenly find yourself being gutted. Secure a spot for someone, and just keep moving on.
Personally, I'd think ECU would fit best, but SBC already has the state of NC pretty locked up.

WKU would be the better school by far. Geographically not as good but overall competitiveness, much better. Jmo

WKU is a package deal with Middle Tennessee State. They won't go out on a date without one another.

Apparently the overwhelming consensus on the SBC board is NIMBY! They have so much more financial resources to spend, + that puts 3 members in VA. ODU & JMU fans especially not interested in the 🔥!

Yes. Was thinking of additional school should ECU miraculously come to the SB. If that were to happen, add WKU.
But to your point, yeah, I would think State may be the prime target to move.
