just got Indiana to pay $7,000,000 to help Carrier outsource half it's jobs to mexico. Impressive. What happened to the tariffs he promised? Bwaaaahaha!!!

This is his version of dirty ball. This is a dirty game like college football. Not gonna win with puritanical tactics. You either sleaze your way to making the people who work here happy for a little while or you lose to the party that pimps out the blacks.

They really should have run Obama again. The blacks are where this thing was blown by Hillary. Their turnout sucked. Would have beat down the doors to vote for another black guy. Aren't there others in the Democrat party? Hillary's turn cost the Democrats dearly.

You do realize that Indiana is not giving carrier 7 million right? carrier is also investing 16 million plus in the indiana plant. 16 million dollars spent is a lot of trickle down for other local electricians, plumbers, concrete, etc etc.

it is called negotiation EG. You don't always get all you want but it is a win win for both. Close to 1000 people keep their jobs and it sits a precedent that he will bring pressure to bear on companies wanting to leave USA. What's wrong with that? Like was said better than obamas waste to "green companies".

What's the difference between 7 million in cash and 7 million in tax breaks other than semantics? More subsidies for a company with annual sales of 56 BILLION.

Where's the huge tariffs?

trump promised huge tariffs for companies moving jobs to other countries, instead he subsidizes them. It sets a precedent that the trump administration will pay companies not to move, which is more taxpayer money going to the already wealthy.

How is bailing out one of your biggest bundlers a cure for the Great Recession? I guess it cured it for one guy.

How is subsidizing the retaining of half of the 2000 carrier jobs going to be a cure for saving manufacturing jobs? I guess one company is already benefiting from trump breaking his campaign promise.

Where's the huge tariffs?

Jeez Greed... He has not even been installed as President yett... How can he impose tariffs?

He made a deal while Obama sat on his ass.

Give the man some credit, and some time.

Greed, there are some ignorant people out there in this world, but you truly are just a stupid little country bumpkin.

Stick to following the Wayne police blotter and making shitty cabinets. Those are things you're actually good at.

Indiana will recoup the money several times over in tax collections from the retained workers. That said presidents should stay out of picking and choosing, just stick to creating policy that lets growth and prosperity flourish.

those jobs are established, well paying, union jobs. $50-$60k a year times ~1,000 will exceed the $7mil in trickle down and taxes easily. And there is no proof there won't be additional taxes/tariffs imposed on the side leaving. He can't do anything about that for another month.

the bottom line, he made an attempt. Something no other candidate running would have. While he was meeting with Carrier and trying to work this out, Hillary was giving Katy Perry an award for being famous. Had Hills won, her schedule this week wouldn't have been any different...

Just think, Hillary could have won and then instead of this the taxpayers would be on the hook for paying 1,000 people to sit at home and fake back injuries.

Let's say they pay 'em $20,000 a head per year, although it would be way more. Just for one year, it's $20 million. So as long as this place stays open a few months, you still come out ahead.

the other beauty of this situation is alllllll the Monday morning quarterbacks. A lot of people have an opinion on this deal, why it's bad and how it could be better, but not a one of them stepped up from the time Carrier announced they were leaving until now. No plan of their own. no advice on how to get them to stay. Nothing.

and blasting Trump for "setting a bad precedence"... When asked about Trump's deal by the press core the WH press sec cited 800+ times Obama made similar "deals" to keep jobs here over his 8 years. Outrage? Nope, just more hypocrisy fro the Left...

Made a deal? Give him credit? Sure. When he does this 1 1/2 times per day for his 4 year term (without offering the extra subsidies).

What is so wrong with a person or a company being able to keep more of the money they're making? If someone can give me an answer to that, I will become a liberal today.

Whitey should work and share his paycheck equally with people that sit on their asses and eat free food all day.

Individuals need government to make their decisions from them.

Nothing, which is why the company you work for should not pay you. They should be able to keep ALL their money.

''So, if he does that 804 more times, he will have matched the standard set by President Obama''

LOL, I like it. They can have my money. More importantly, they can have my vacation time. I will just be a volunteer. Not a Tennessee one, but one that just lives in that office. It would cut out all this driving back and forth to work, going to the store, etc. I'd just live out of the vending machine. Wait, no money. Out of the garbage can. You should see the stuff people throw away.

Zuckerman's Famous Pig.

This is great in theory. Unfortunately, civilization is expensive. Keep in mind Indiana doesn't exactly blow money on liberal shit, this is a pretty conservative state. Indiana has been making steady progress at shifting the tax burden from corporations to individuals. That's the Republican way these days, so while the company might keep more of its money, you will not. Our roads are turning to shit; I-65 is a joke for 90% of its length in Indiana. We are managing to build a new interstate from Evansville to Indianapolis, why is beyond me, there isn't shit out that way; maybe it is so people can get to IU games faster, as the interstate will go through Bloomington. Or maybe it is to ship those jobs to Mexico a little faster, the plan is to extend I-69 to Laredo TX.

There is a difference between companies paying salaries and having to give money to the government. Employees good. Government bad.

They both have to have revenue. You cons believe starving the government will produce better results. No.

Civilization has led to over population. Which also leads to environmental damage. Libs should be against civilization.

Jeez Greed, you must be on drugs today....settle down.

Here is a nice Christmas poem to calm you down a little:

The election is over,
The name calling is done.
Your party lost,
Our party won.
So let us be friends,
Let arguments pass,
We'll hug our elephant,
You kiss your ass.

No. There's been a higher tax revenue under the current admin than ever before, and still there's a deficit. That's what Con's want to fix.

Sure, they want to fix it. But as history shows us, they only want to do that under a democrat president. And at that time, they want to do it on the backs of the elderly, poor, and disabled. Let's see if the cons do it while they have the oval office, senate, and house, when they can't blame Ds for it.

Hopefully they will. I don't care which party stops the bleeding but it does need to stop. What would happen to you or I if we outspent our income? Historically it's Dems who want more government, which means more spending. Hillary said government needs to make more decisions because people can't make them form themselves. As an adult that should piss you off. As a tax payer it should piss you off.
