Thank you Chief Justice

You do understand the difference between Donald Trump and the non-profit political organization called the Donald Trump 2020 campaign right?
Good grief. I suppose you're going to tell us these entities are totally independent of each other, and neither knows what the other is doing or planning to do. That Donald Trump and The Donald Trump Campaign are not planning the re-election together.

You do realize just how absurd that is....right?

The point is there's no tie in between campaign money raising and whether or not Trump runs in 2020.

The money is wholly transferable and the fund might as well be called generic GOP candidate for president 2020.

Campaign rules are like nascar restrictions. Figure out what's legal then figure out what you can get away with.

The original point addressed in my posts was the notion that Trump would not seek re-election. Again, I believe the "evidence" is overwhelming that he will.

The fact the Campaign has raised so much $$ to re-elect Trump is strong evidence. It's a much stronger point than the position stating money collected could be diverted to another candidate. That's a "what if"......not the objective of the campaign.

And there's this:
WASHINGTON — With just 980 days to go until the next presidential election, President Trump said Tuesday that he would run again in 2020

Trump has already made an announcement to run in 2020....and his campaign has registered and obviously started collecting money.

Folks committing money to the "Re-elect Donald Trump" are giving money to re-elect Donald Trump. And I would also expect they're not going to commit that money if they didn't believe Donald Trump would be running for re-election regardless of what campaign laws we drag into this discussion.

Also, of the over $100 million raised, there's reportedly $35 million in the bank. Whether it's politics or business, a "receivable" asset is definitely different than money in the bank.

If he does Nikki Haley goes on the ticket with him in 2020. If he doesn’t he will do something like the reality tv star he is like bow out at the last moment and stick ivanka in his place.

Upon reflection....the mere fact Trump said he was running for re-election could ultimately mean he won't. Guess it's not as big of a "slam dunk" as I originally thought.
