Led the entire game only to blow it in the last minute. Shit coaching and shit players. Least talented team in the conference. Be lucky to win 12 games. Dan set the program back by staying too long and then absolutely crippled it by demanding Jackson take over. Marshall's athletic department is a dumpster fire. And some of you sit around like this guy:

We didn’t lead the entire game, but I get your point. We are most definitely not the worst (both Ga schools are fighting for that prize), but we are bottom half. As a friend pointed out, there’s no go to guy on the team. Nate going 1-4 from the line late didn’t help. Poorly executed play on the last possession.
Oh well, it’s not like this is new territory for die hard MU basketball fans!

Marshall played terrific defense.
The only other times I've seen Troy struggle to get in the paint like that was against Houston and Arkansas. Marshall's biggest issue is they have no perimeter shooters.

Pretty spot on, I think.

I do believe you have to give 🌽 a little grace. He was actually able to get a legit DI
in Dawson, and enough bodies on the roster to field a competitive squad. And it’s not like DD left much in the cupboard!

It really is a shame that Dan couldn’t continue his early success. It was exciting to have Marshall basketball in the tournament.

If you recall, DD, with no college coaching experience, was extremely fortunate to have the services of Elmore, Burks, Janzen (shoutout HerdnAtlanta), Penava, the Wake transfer, and then our PG who could steal at a high rate, and finally Kinsey. He also recruited some colossal deadweight. In the end, his luck ran out once Kinsey completed 5(!) seasons of eligibility.

As one who is now on Medicare, I can relate to geezer’s desire for reminiscing (for me, it will always be Tracy’s squad in ‘71-‘72, as well as Huck’s tenure), but this now 25 years into a new century, and we have to accept that we haven’t had but a smidgen of success in that time period. (CIT! CIT! 😂)
Hopefully 🌽 can build a winner. If not, next coach up!

p.s. On the gals side, Ashley Tudor needs many more minutes on the floor than 9!

DD's "success" was once, from fourth place, the team got on a eight day hot streak. DD "continuing" that would have been that happening again some day. DD was a poor basketball coach and should have been fired long ago. Only a Marshall fan would think making the second round of the tournament, once, something that literally most of the entire Division has done, is "successful".

But that is the past. DD is gone and the AD who hired him is gone. This is a token effort. The NCAA says we have to have a men's basketball team, and CS, cynically, knows that he can have just about anyone coaching any level of players, and go about .500, which is the goal and we will end up one or two games on either side of it. This is a built-for-football league and half of the teams make NO effort at basketball, some because they don't care, and some because they don't have the cash. It is easy to go .500.

And the same 2K or so old people that attend the games will still do so, and the student activity fees will roll in involuntarily, and this makes money on a cash basis.

That is the goal. That is the CS way.

We are one of the worst shooting teams in the country (43% FG, 28% 3pt, and 67%). Defense is much better than last year.

I’m willing to give Corny a year or so to see if he can find some shooters.

The talent level on this team is inferior to last season. Voyles and Crawford were both capable of scoring at will....this year's team doesn't have anyone near that, and we all ew seeing the results.....hopefully corny can build a team with depth and skill.....we shall see. Slay hopefully can be the centerpiece to that structure......
