The Once, Present, and Always King

And I must say he made a tasty beverage even better when he changed his recipe up by adding a dash of cherry juice.

Mr. Palmer changed the game forever , brought it to the people , became the image so many associated with not only the tour but the game itself. The quintessential gentlemen , master of the charge, the commanding general of Arnie's Army and its legion of fans, an image that never dimmed nor will ever fade away. Was always there for those that made what he had possible , from the volunteers to the media , commanded the respect of all in only a way that Mr. Palmer could and did and through all the success never forgot his humble background as the son of a greens keeper.

The world and the game of golf have lost an icon for sure. Fairways and Greens Mr. Palmer , Rest in Peace.

Thinking of and remembering many memories of Mr. Palmer. He was the first professional golfer I ever shook hands with , did that at some point around 1968 or 1969 at Greater Greensboro Open (GGO) at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro NC now the Wyndham Championship. First tour event I had ever attended. Still remember so much about that initial exposure to the game at that level.

The interesting thing is when my daughter was about 5 or so and had already been playing a little golf since she was 3 , I took her to a Senior Tour event in Lexington Ky at Kearney Hill Links....the first professional she ever met and shook hands with --- Mr. Palmer

He was swashbuckler for sure, daring and fabricating a shot when he needed to..think he passed that on to Seve Ballesteros
