I know we all play roles and defend party lines on here, but enough is enough. There is no defending this. At some point, the acting has to stop and you guys have to acknowledge that the trend that has been happening over the last six weeks is very bad.

This shit is starting to get scary. Unfortunately, so many of his supporters are uneducated (or the "I love the poorly educated" he talks about) and don't have the critical thinking skills or historical knowledge of why this shit is scary:

WH statement says Spicer was in a smaller room and couldn't accommodate all media requests. Not an implausible reason. With that said if they did block them intentionally then that's bush league just like Obama did with Fox News. And it needs to stop

We’re going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent,” said Anita Dunn, the White House communications director, in a telephone interview on Sunday. “As they are undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House, we don’t need to pretend that this is the way that legitimate news organizations behave.”

Not going on a lot of Fox News shows/interviews is different than blocking. And it wasn't that they couldn't be accommodated. Look at the list of semi-illegitimate organizations that were accommodated. Look at the list which weren't. It's quite easy to see what the issue is.

Apples to oranges. Under Obama, the White House didn't ban Fox News from press conferences, big or small. Calling out a particular media organization is not something unheard of from the White House. Banning organizations, especially those viewed as legitimate (even by their rivals), is unheard of and a very, very scary precedent and indication by this administration.

this wasn't a "press conference". The regular briefing was cancelled because Trump was speaking at CPAC. The 13 on call plus a few invited for the remaining limited seating. Sure there was malice involved, but don't act like this was TiTM getting shut down and a bunch of guys perma-banned.

hell, NBC was there. Has anybody been more critical of Trump over the last couple of weeks than Chuck Todd?

I referred to it as a small press conference. That's what it was.

You have agreed that those organizations, all of which are legitimate and have been around for decades, were purposely shut out of it. That is unheard of for the White House to do under any administration. Playing it off as not a big deal is simply you catering to the party line instead of being truthful.

Your type mocked the people who claimed that this was how it starts; trying to control the media. Now, it has taken a huge next step.

Furthermore trump did a damn press conference a week or so ago and stood there for an hour fielding questions.

Scary. I have heard liberals use that damn word so many times the last few months.

so this is "unheard of" but not letting an organization ask a question for 6 months is ok? Spicer urged those in attendance to "share". Why is this worse than having a normal PC and not giving those guys the time of day?

I don't agree with it and think it has/will cause unneeded drama. I also don't think it's a big deal. Trump's supporters, for the most part, are laughing. You guys using buzzwords like "scary". Just more fuel on the fire... A couple of weeks ago when the MSM cried about not getting any questions for Spicer Trump gave a 77 minute Q&A session. I imagine it will happen after this as well.

And again, there was more than one organization included that hasn't said a good thing about Trump. When they start holding Fox only meetings ill join you in the scared dept.

That doesn't absolve their actions today. Again, stop playing your role. You know that what they did today is some Russian type shit.
No not really. The damn press is so full of liberals that they are biased. Not objective Good for trump. I don't even watch espn anymore because of their shit

This is a guy who led the charge on "fake news" about Obama being born in Kenya and many other things. Do you not see the comedy in this? As I said earlier, it is a circus in there. The rest of the world looks on in shock and sees a country being led by a corrupt, incompetent team. Defending this action is inexcusable. At some point, you have to put your bias aside and see things for right and wrong.

Think goodness Breitbart and One American News Network were allowed in.

They provide hard-hitting, unbiased reporting, unlike those commies at CNN.

It was at CPAC a conservative conference. Not a shocker conservative outlets were granted access

I got in trouble at a work dinner for offending the damn Snow flakes last night. Asked my opinion and damn they got offended. Started that bull shit about saying the pledge was brainwashing. Little bastard. I have never seen people go as bat shit crazy as they have over this election. These pansies are really horrified or something. Kiss my ass what I told them

If you can't even admit Obama's actions re: Fox were in the same vein as Trump's towards CNN (which I wholly disagree with), you are being intellectually dishonest and there's no reason to further debate the issue with you. That's some Greed sh*t right there.

I imagine you don't like what I post. It refutes your alternative facts.

Unprecedented eh?

"And the White House has gone beyond words, reports CBS News senior political correspondent Jeff Greenfield. Last Sept. 20, the president went on every Sunday news show - except Chris Wallace's show on FOX. And on Thursday, the Treasury Department tried to exclude FOX News from pool coverage of interviews with a key official. It backed down after strong protests from the press."

That would be true if you were comparing things even remotely related to each other. But you're not.

The complaints in this thread about the Obama tenure dealt with two things; the Treasury Department allegedly initially excluding Fox from a briefing and Obama not going on every single television show on one day.

First, the Treasury Department is separate from the White House. The action a couple of days ago was by the White House, not the Treasury. Just as important, Fox news was not excluded from the event by the Treasury. They were initially omitted. After push-back from other media about it, the Treasury alerted the White House of the issue, at which time, Fox was granted access. Why was Fox originally not included by the Treasury? They didn't request access. They assumed they would automatically have it due to the pool coverage some of the major outlets share. When there was push-back about the exclusion, the Treasury alerted the White House whom granted Fox access. Trump's White House not only was originally responsible for the exclusion, but they also were responsible for it being fulfilled.

Not going on a particular editorial show is an entirely different, unrelated topic.

Yes, unprecedented. If Obama didn't go on the ExtraGreen Sunday news show on Wayne public access channel 8, would that be the same thing as what Trump's White House just did? Exactly. You are trying to compare entirely different things.

Wait. Why would that bother you? Aren't you the guy with all the Russian friends?

Two Russian friends; one who lives there still, one who is in school here. Why would it bother me? Because it shows just how foolish and ignorant Trump supporters are. Having friends from a certain country doesn't mean I (or they) support much of what their government does. Likewise, having friends in West Virginia doesn't mean I support the plague of drug abuse, extremely low education level, world ignorance, racism, and overall culture the state has.

Obama Boots Reporters From Conservative Papers

Barack Obama's campaign has booted from its airplane three reporters who work for newspapers that have endorsed John McCain.

The campaign says that a limited number of seats forced it to make the tough decision of which journalists would be permitted to follow the Democratic presidential candidate in the last four days of the campaign, but the papers are calling foul, claiming they were targeted for their editorial-page positions and kicked off while nonpolitical publications like Glamour and Jet magazines remained on board.

Eliminated from the plane's traveling press were the Washington Times, the New York Post and the Dallas Morning News.

"It feels like the journalistic equivalent of redistributing the wealth," said John Solomon, executive editor of the Washington Times.

"We paid all along to travel and cover Obama. This is a matter of basic fairness. We've committed a lot of resources and have been covering Obama since the beginning. By the campaign's own admission our reporter has done a fair job," he said.

almost as crazy as giving Buzzfeed a WH press pass. that same Buzzfeed that published a false story about Russian's having video of a hooker pissing on Trump. the same Buzzfeed that issued a statement immediately after publishing that they spent weeks trying to confirm the story but were unable to. they felt it should be up to the readers to judge for themselves...

Did you think I would only read what you posted and not the much longer part of the article on your link? Did you think I wouldn't see the part where journalists are shuffled towards the ends of campaigns trying to get one of a few coveted spots? Did you not think I would see the part where the editor of the Dallas Morning News stated that he had no evidence that his reporter didn't have a spot due to their negative coverage? Did you not think I would see the part where the Dallas Morning News said that their reporter also was recently rejected from John McCain's plane? Did you not think I would see the comment that demand for seats far outnumbered the supply, so many people had to be bumped (which again, is quite common towards the end of campaigns)? Did you not think I would see that the same thing happened with Little Georgie and Cheney during their campaign?

But, pretend I didn't see all of that which basically debunks the smaller part of the article you posted. What you fail to understand is that there is a major, major difference between an unelected politician campaigning and how he campaigns compared with how the White House handles things after the election is over.

CNN hasn't been considered a legitimate news agency since the first gulf war invasion. The irony is this channel produced better news when the partisan lefty Ted Turner owned it.

This was a big Trump F. U.to Jeff Zucker (they have developed quite a dislike for one another). You libs are missing another opportunity to claim Trump is an anti Semite. Lol.

it happens under every administration in some form or another. what Obama did to Fox was far worse as it lasted for months vs a single event. Lyndon Johnson once revoked WH press credentials from a reporter he didn't like on the basis that he was scared the reporter would physically assault him. this led to the Secret Service banning the reporter from the WH grounds...

Liberals crying "fear", "scary", "Nazi", and all the other buzzwords you use when you don't get your way doesn't make this some national disaster.

Come on guys Trump needs to quit being such a dumbass.seems he wants to pick fights. So many people hate him i think somone will OJ his ass. Just one day he could act professionally. He acts like one of those old county judges who causes a scene every time in public. Alot of highly educated people voted for trump. New York smart makes you a dumbass in rural america. Not you rifle, its all a game to you.wanna see u coaching the herds quarterbacks
