I don't know guys, I just don't believe the Lilly boy will see the field. He is likely to get beat up on the scout team during the week, put on a pretty uniform and watch for at least (3) years. I follow the Old Coalfield Conference Football close. Even as a high school athlete he (Lilly) was very slow, not very big either. Maybe he will shock everyone in the Beckley community and turn out to be a success. Even if the young man landed at Marshall, the story would be the same. Maybe the West Virginia Conference would have suited his needs.

I have never known WW to be a football powerhouse in WV. Now basketball is a different story.

Not so much, recently, perhaps but in history of WV high school football the Flying Eagles have had their moments going back to the Jerome Van Meter era in the 1950s. Have had some respectable teams when Culicerto was the head coach and also during Lilly's tenure. Still, all in all, basketball has been the most successful sport at WW.
