Brett McMurphy just had a tweet listing the teams that have allowed less than 30 points for the most games in a row.

Of course he left Marshall off, as we should have made the list at 5 straight along with a few other schools.

After going back to look at it, if you bump that to 31 points, and say teams that have given up 31 points or less. We gave up 31 or less every game this year except for Cincy.

Not bad

defense has not been the problem his year for the most part IMO. Hope our offense gets it's act together for a bowl game. Would love to see us get win #9 this year.

I stated several days ago that defense was not the problem. Our offense is averaging 23 points per game, not counting the game against VMI.

Correct. Our offense only scored 30 more points more this year than our opponents. A whopping 25 ppg and that includes 56 points against VMI

Scoring a whopping combined 26 points against MTSU and Charlotte killed the 2019 season though.

We had 11 games against FBS opponents this year. In 6 of those games we scored 6 or fewer points in the second half, 0 twice, 3 twice and 6 twice. If Cincinnati hadn't generously put in their third team that would have been 7 times.

The interesting thing is that we had our biggest second halves against the better teams in the conference. This tells me we had the ability to score in the second half when the team was motivated and the coaches felt they had to be more aggressive. Our most second half points were against FAU. We scored a total of 3 second half points against Middle and Charlotte, combined.

I don’t think most people could really complain as much about our defense (other than Cincinnati) as they have kept us in games. It’s the play css as long and execution on offense that have been subpar.
